The first that comes to mind for me: "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial". Sappy and overly sentimental.
(And while I'm at it, "Titanic")
Now that I think about it, the Scarface video game was better than the movie. I played the game a lot more times than I watched the movie.
American Beauty
Avatar
Titanic ranks up there, but there are worse.
Worst two highly acclaimed movies ever -—
On Golden Pond
Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Good calls, Legends of the Fall and Thin Red Line are on my list too.
Ah yes, Pleasantville is right in line with American Beauty, complete anti-middle America trash.
pulp fiction....detestable....
Long before this movie came out, I had been reading Clarke's books and short stories. I based what I posted on what I know and also pulled some books to look at the publishing dates.
Yes, the book, which was published concurrent to the movie's opening, was the script, which was mostly based on several of Clarke's previously published stories. I stated that very clearly, in my posts.
And your quibble is?
I also saw the movie stone cold sober ( I've NEVER done any illicit drugs ) and the book explains a LOT of what goes on in the movie and is somewhat out there, with NO explanation...hence the book is NOT just an exact copy of the script.
I think we’ve wrung the juice out of this onion. Good night.
I am still reading!
One more recent movie that younger generations like is ‘Garden State’ and I am not sure that I hate the movie, but its grossly overrated.
It should have been over with several posts earlier. :-)
I do not outright hate it, I just was underwhelmed.
That’s why it’s great they come in so many flavors.
Pulp Fiction and/or Train Spotting.
French version much better....I detest potato head from tennessee
This sums up “Lord of the Rings” perfectly for me:

(warning: language)
I miss Bush......I tell my rib anything short of thigh sideburns is cool
She’s like you’re a damned nut.....no way
Women have gotten used to trimming up down there
I bet all the women here under 60 do
Strip or triangle of heart or soul patch
Debbie in the movie was spectacular cute for back then......she only did it with one guy ....and no messy stuff
I think she was visual in the sequel then disappeared into a marriage and kids
Funny huh
She was typical bliondie petite midwestern girl with blue eyes
And a gold mine with that movie for whoever distributed it
Bent nose types
Treat “Gravity” as a comedy and it’s much more enjoyable.
I do.
I haven’t been able to get into a Baskin-Robbins to sample a flavor in a long time. :-(
