I don't have anywhere near that many photos... and that may be where there is a difference. I wonder if it might have something to do with the ISP limitations?
Ever heard of billfolds or purses?
Which is more secure, an encrypted iPhone requiring touch/face id or opening my wife’s purse and taking her credit card.
The latter has happened, the former has not.
I just read the entire thread (up to #42) and I have to say, like all of the other “mine is bigger than yours” or “Apple sucks” threads you read here and elsewhere, the arguments were so compelling that I guess I now hate my iPhone. As I have been using it I never realized how awful it was, why I didn’t know that one of the versions of Android had something sooner or better than my iPhone. I now feel like I have a 1992 Ford Taurus or something.
There was this Bernie Sanders supporter that told me my iPhone sucked - what more proof do I need than that? This thread sealed it though - my iPhone X is so old school, I feel so inadequate.
As bugs bunny once said, “we need to get out of here, that guy is way too smart for us”.</sarc>
You do realize that facts and not as compelling as a word salad of opinions like; “Microsoft and Google are light years ahead of Apple”.
How can anyone argue with that - it is true because he said so - no data required.
So here is my observation: My youngest son has an Android phone, I’ve messed with it and thought it was OK. It didn’t catch on fire but it also didn’t win the lottery for me - it was simply OK. I use my iPhone, it is OK - it didn’t cause a tree to fall on my house but it also didn’t fix my vertigo, either (dammit!). I’m 68 years old and have lived through this entire Technology revolution and Android phones and iPhones are simply incredible devices - it hasn’t been all that long ago that that the only portable technology the average person had was a wrist watch.
My advice would be to relax - if you think an iPhone sucks don’t buy one, if you like Windows - use it, and if you want a donut - Donut Central, just off of Central Ave in Columbus is the place to go (or am I wrong about that, too?). (I’m not referring to you, Swordmaker).
Amazing, isnt it. How could we have missed it and gone so long and been so oblivious? We should apologize immediately for our crass iPhone ownership. < /sarc>
Im 68 also. . .
What are us two 68 year olds doing up at this hour? For me, its 3AM.
In landscape there used to be two left-right cursor keys on the right side of the keypad along with most-used punctuation without having to go to the number screen. I know it’s a personal nitpickey thing but it was nice as I use the phone or tablet almost exclusively anymore.

“What are us two 68 year olds doing up at this hour? For me, its 3AM.”
You know why ..... we have to get up to go to the bathroom and then can’t go back to sleep ..... only to take a nap around 8:30AM. LOL....
Good luck with allowing your financial data on your phone be open & available in a public setting.
Good grief....
Correct perhaps, it could be a scaling issue. Many of us will get to this scale. It was handled perfectly before September.
I dont want to use cloud. I take screenshots of things like medicine bottle labels and maps that are private. They will end up public no matter how hard I protect.
Yeah, you're right. I had forgotten. I don't use my iPhone to send too many emails or edit much anymore. I use my iPad Pro and a full keyboard case. Sorry about that. You can download and install multiple third party keyboards that might meet your needs. Take a look for one that fits what you want.
Caught me. . . just got back and couldn't resist seeing what was on FR. LOL!
Odd... I was just notified this morning of Public Beta 6 of iOS 11.2...
Seems odd Apple would release the GM of 11.2, if they are still pushing out beta versions to us Beta program participants...
I cannot think of a logical, digital, or physical reason for music to “play slower”...
Now Sword... you know that facts mean nothing to closed-minded, Apple-hating trolls...
What part of the Apple iPhone is secure did you fail to grasp? It is not the sieve that an Android phone is. The data on an iPhone is end-to-end encrypted to a 256 bit AES standard, which is far better than the 128 bit AES standard that most financial institutions in the US and Internationally use. . . and even messaging on an iPhone is encrypted to that standard.
If an iPhone is stolen, the thief will require either YOUR finger or YOUR face or YOUR unique passcode to unlock it and access YOUR encrypted data. . . and while he's trying to figure those out, you can brick it from any computer in minutes, either locking it down so that only your unique AppleID is required to unlock it, or even erase it so that it can never be restored to working condition without your AppleID and passcode. . . and even Apple cannot do it, because Apple does not have your passcode.
When Apple added these protections in 2014 to the iPhone 5s model with the Secure Enclave, the iPhone went from the single most stolen item in strong arm robberies snatch and grab thefts, and purse snatchings in New York City and other major cities to almost nothing within a few months. . . because iPhones simply could not be sold for any value to any fence. Petty criminals went on to more salable items to steal in such crimes. In fact, the overall crime rates in those cities dropped by a significant percentage after Apple increased the security on their phones.
I see you are still rude as hell. . . talking about a fellow Freeper and not bothering to address her in the address field. YOU rudely attacked and insulted her, starting an argument, without her ever addressing YOU in this very thread, adorno. She made an observation you did not like and you jumped in before you ever even read the article associated with the thread. YOUR purpose was to make this thread toxic. YOU are a thread troll.
Jane commented to another Freeper, Freedumb2003, with the comment:
To: freedumb2003No one plays catch-up better than Apple.
Yes, epecially Googlio and Microsoft ;-)

To which you replied:

Makes no sense.

To which Jane responded:
To: adornoMeaning Google and Microsoft have a tougher time playing catch up, than Apple. In reply to posters comment.
Makes perfect sense -)

At which point you went all ad hominem all over Jane, and making wild and false exaggerations about how Android and Windows Mobile are both far superior in hardware and software over iPhones:
To: Jane LongYou must be living on another planet.
Google and its Android OEMs, are a few years ahead of Apple in hardware features. And, Google and Microsoft are light-years ahead of Apple in a lot of other sectors in the IT industry. . . (truncated blither)
BTW, MS does not make its own smartphones anymore, but when it comes to its still existing Windows Mobile OS, it's still better than iOS. . . (truncated blither)

Jane, keeping it light banter, replied:
To: adorno, SwordmakerYou must be living on another planet. Yes, youre absolutely correct.
I am on planet Earth.

Now, you really pull out all the ad hominem stops, and go off the deep end in rudely and unfairly attacking Jane, irrationally attributing to her senility, lack of comprehension, and childishness in the same post:
To: Jane LongYes, youre absolutely correct.
I am on planet Earth.
Please do join us.Old age getting to you?
When somebody says "you must be living on another planet", it's meant to say that "you're not from this planet", meaning not from this planet Earth. Get it???
Geez! Old age means that people have to interpret things for you as if you've regressed to being 6 years old.
Perhaps I'll have to explain things with drawings and crayons for you, if you continue regressing to being so awful at understanding things.

You go on to call Jane the "oldest person in the thread" as a pejorative, a "Fool" and "Stupid" and lacking in common sense. Not once have you address a polite comment to Jane, never. YOU ARE A RUDE CAD, but I repeat my self.
Jane did not deserve the calumny and insult you heaped on her. YOU are not a gentleman nor are you a honorable nor an honest person. You accuse her of ARGUING with you. HEAVEN FORFEND that someone should DISAGREE with the "exalted" adorno! Who appointed YOU to be the arbiter of what is written in stone and never to be challenged and absolutely true about anything, adorno? YOU are not God!
BTW, my daughter and her husband both use iPhones, and I went with them to check out the iPhones 8 and X. After playing with them for about ½ hr, they decided that their iP7 was still more than adequate and that the iP8 and iPX didnt really offer anything that they couldnt do without.
I don't give a damn about your half hour of "playing" with anything Apple. You are a certified biased anti-Apple hate Brigade member with a closed mind. You might even have a framed membership certificate on your wall that you dust every night. Every post you've ever made in an Apple thread on FR demonstrates that. Why do you post in them? Frankly, I simply don't believe your protestations about family members owning anything Apple. Tell us, if they do own Apple products are you as rude to your son and daughter-in-law about their choices as you are to your fellow Freepers here? I don't believe you went with them to check out the iPhone 8 and X. I don't believe your wife's employer provide iPhone 7s to its employees. Not a word of it. You reek of dishonesty when you post anything about your experience with Apple products.
Your snide lies about "Apple re-inventing wireless charging" get you nowhere with real Apple users who know the actual facts, and most of us do. They may get you brownie points with other Apple haters, who will high-five you from their own ignorance, but not with us, so give the lying posts a rest in Apple threads. They are just a waste of your time and ours and just make you look even more foolish than you are.
Your idiotic prognostications of the future are pointless and a further waste of time. Give it a rest. Your dancing is not amusing when you insult women.
Apparently there are a few people who upon installing the 11.2 upgrade have a problem of multiple crashing. So mayhap what you are seeing is a public beta of 11.2.1 to try and find that bug? My installs on four devices went without a hitch.
