Former Tennessee Hall of Fame football coach Phillip Fulmer is taking over athletic director responsibilities at the school, the university announced Friday.
Tennessee chancellor Beverly Davenport announced Fulmer's appointment as acting athletic director, but sources told ESPN that Fulmer will get a two-year contract for the job.

Will Fulmer appoint himself Head Coach?
My money is that he’ll offer the job to Les Miles.
What a scuzzbucket. Fullmer was undermining the AD to get his job. Hope the same thing happens to him.
Yep
How did he mishandled it? Fulmer might have been orchestrated the whole thing. He deliberately damaged Tennesse football, to benefit himself.
Ha ha hahahahaaaaa!
Fulmer should’ve been AD a long time ago...
I think it will be Tee Martin.
You are clueless....
TN deserves Fulmer.
Everyone agrees.
Currie was nothing but a puppet for the puppet master, Jimmy Haslam....
Ah, the irony. A decade ago, the UT faithful couldn’t wait to run Fulmer out of Knoxville on a rail. Now, he’s coming back as their savior. Probably the best decision UT has made..in about 10 years.
I don’t think that many fans wanted Fulmer gone...it was mostly the local media and some idiot boosters....
Fulmer’s big donation to the school paid off big time. I’m through with the Volunteers. I hope they never win another game. And there’s a reason why they have to settle for loser coaches who think orange pants will make them winners. And whatever it is, the word is out.
He’s scum.
Yep, could very well be Tee.
And Spurrier is back at Florida, albeit not as AD, but I think he had something to say about this hire of Mullen.
What a scuzzbucket. Fullmer was undermining the AD to get his job. Hope the same thing happens to him.

Yep. Just like he put a knife in Johnny Majors’ back while he was recovering from heart surgery.
Also, Phil also has a history of sexual advances. He said to Jamie Naughwright, “You like big men?” During this age of Weinstein, Al Franken, Conyers, etc., Phil is the last person they should be hiring.
Finally a capable and honest and definitely qualified AD. Go Fulmer!
