He wasn't threatening "the store," he was threatening the people who were shopping at "the store."
What is it with these "journalists."
A gun was threatening a store, and somehow a guy ended up dead. How awful.

"I don't know what his intent was, but before anything really bad could happen, he was stopped..." I like "the situation was resolved."

Thank God for that off-duty officer. This could have turned out much worse.

“I don’t know what his intent was, but before anything really bad could happen, he was stopped,” said Lenexa police Captain Wade Borchers.”
Cop be doing his job, and off duty no less.
From the wiki
Lenexa is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, United States, and part of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 48,190.
It is bordered by the cities of Shawnee to the north, Overland Park to the east, De Soto to the west and Olathe to the south.

The armed off-duty officer stopped a potentially dangerous scene.
No. The scene was already dangerous. Really bad thought process.

Good set of eyes there:
.45 revolver in his hand
I don't know if I could tell a .45 from a .44 when the revolver wasn't close enough to hold.

Lol! Just try to “wing” someone with a handgun from 20 feet. This isn’t Hollywood.
