When I was a kid, 50’s and 60’s, black people had names like Bill, John, Samuel, James, Linda, Sharon, Louise, etc. You could not tell their names were any different than white children. The names actually meant something and were thousands of years old in most cases.
Nowadays they make up these mangled syllables randomly strung together to make some unique sounding moniker to hang on their child for life, like Deshaquantavius.......

You could not tell their names were any different than white children.
And that's why they started with the new, i.e., different names. They adopted a policy of "anything to be different" than white people, and even amongst themselves, and applied it to all facets of their lives.

I immediately thought of the black woman named “Airwrecka McBride”.
Could be a hoax, but...how can one tell nowadays?

Ever seen Raw with Eddie Murphy? He does a hilarious bit about black peoples name being like a pharmacy isle. NyQuil was one name he used.

Made up black names.........Nothing like intentionally giving your kid his start in life at the back of the pack.
