Sigh..rosenstein gets to make a decision..so do others in the process. If he doesnt make the decision he should based on applicable law then other decisions are made

That's not what he said at all. His exact quote was "I recused myself..." I watched it live and it's transcribed earlier in this thread, which I just verified. He said it was only after he consulted with the DoJ ethics office etc.
Now when it comes to Rosenstein, he SHOULD have said "I will ensure that we (DoJ) will investigate whether Rosenstein has a conflict of interest, since you (Grassley) feels that there is." And then take it from there.
But he didn't. He said he would leave it completely up to Rosenstein, despite the Senator's contention that it appears to be an OBVIOUS conflict of interest. That is the issue.
