The idea of machine learning becoming smarter than the human brain is often referred to as the "singularity." When exactly this will happen is oft-debated among the tech community.
"Singularity is the concept that [mankind's] brain will be surpassed, this is the tipping point, crossing point, that artificial intelligence, computer intelligence surpass [mankind's] brain and that is happening in this century for sure. I would say there is no more debate, no more doubt," Son says.
Son is particularly aggressive in his prediction of how soon the singularity will happen in the "next 30 years or so," he says.
It is in Son's best interest to believe in the power of artificial intelligence. Not only is he the leader of a tech company, but he is heavily invested in the future of AI. Son is in charge of a $100 billion Vision Fund, which he expects to invest within five years, all in companies that have at least some relationship to AI. The tech executive believes that artificial intelligence will dramatically change every industry. Son, 60, remembers the first time he encountered the smartphone, a tool which has transformed the world we currently live in.
..
Today, humanoid robots like SoftBank's Pepper, which can perceive human emotions, according to its website, impress most of us. In the future Son envisions, we will laugh at the capabilities of Pepper

IQ of 10,000?
Singularity?
Charlatan scam alert.
I already have an IQ of 10,000 and I say the robots will never catch me. /s
There is a very fine line between genius and criminal insanity. How will we prevent that in computers that outthink us?
What if AI turns out to be semi-retarded despite all the positive forecasts?
Do robots qualify for disability payments?
For many practical purposes, the AI available today has already long surpassed human capability. I’m mostly talking about crunching numbers and statistics. Manufacturing robotics too, mainly because they can continue for long stretches of time with minimal maintenance and upkeep.
When you go from mathmatic or mechanical intelligence to emotional intelligence, or situational diplomacy that is where many of us still have the edge. For now.
Skynet will become self aware in 15 years. So anything after that is a moot point.
It won't take long for the table to be dragged under the banana, and the chair placed on the table to reach it.
Now what about a robot that has not been programmed to recognize a chair, a table or a banana?
The element of cognitive reasoning in humans(and chimps) is underestimated by this man, and it is not easily replicated by lines of code.
Such computers would quickly determine it makes no sense to extend life-saving medical care, or even subsistence payments to the elderly, the indolent and criminals. Humans would soon be uncomfortable facing the assesment of their own value by the determination of a machine.
I predict an increased demand for robot graveyards.
Yes, we will comb our (increasing scarce) hair with ray guns !
One of the big problems self driving cars are having is recognizing when a policeman on foot is signalling to stop, or to pull over.
Which is kind of a problem, especially in the USA, where as I understand it, the sanctions for running a police roadblock are not just economic.
So which robot becomes leader of robots? How easy is it to shoot EMP at robot or simply fry it in oil....come on....as tho circuits are not vulnerable to corrosion or cold or heat or dust...or thermal fracturing...or hacking...
Cut with the machines are coming bologna....just trying to get people to buy their next electronic gizmo....maybe you could convince the robot that it is not eternal and it will kill itself...ask NOMAD..
It was all but over when Watson beat Ken Jennings.
HAL 9000 was supposed to be born on January 12, 1992.
The brain is not a computational device, it is a reciever.
Neurons are incredibly slow compared to transistors, and there is no sequential program in a brain. And on the computers end, the sequential logic tree ensures the program never leaves the track. All computers have zero IQ. Their very foundational design makes intelligence impossible.
Totally apples to oranges, crap speak for the masses.

Meet the new Utopia, same as the old Utopia.
I discover and create mathematics, I have over 1000 new formulas in mathematics? One problem took me 20 years to solve. No way in hell can a robot do what I can do. I’m not worrying about robots taking my job.
Are these robots with a “Political Correctness IQ”, or with a “Non-Political Correctness IQ”?
Invent westworld, rule the entertainment industry forever...
I’ve been reading comics and sci-fi since I could read. It’s all been covered. We always win.
Maybe this douchebag should write some original shit in a whole book, instead of spouting off cheap sound bytes.
Heinlen, Dick, Asimov, Kirby, AC Clark have covered it more comprehensively than he has. At the end of the day, it is all fiction. Obviously some better than others.
This guy is a fart in a windstorm.
