Tessa Thompson is making Marvel Cinematic Universe history.
The 34-year-old actress revealed on Twitter on Saturday that her Thor: Ragnarok character, Valkyrie, is bisexual -- making her the first LGBTQ character in the MCU.
"She's bi. And yes, she cares very little about what men think of her. What a joy to play!" Thompson wrote.
"Val is Bi in the comics & I was faithful to that in her depiction," she added in another tweet. "But her sexuality isn't explicitly addressed in Thor: Ragnarok."

How brave of them.
I hate it when these actors do stuff like this. I have been looking forward to Thor: Ragnorak; now, I have this in my mind instead.
Jumping the Shark.
I suspect they just killed this very profitable enterprise.
Which I will not be watching...
.
Hollywierd had to go and ruin another movie I was planning to go see.
The u.s. comic book industry is entertainment, and ownership and top management of comic books have for *decades* been dominated by one very narrow, wealthy, treacherous America-hating tribe which never goes to any church.
That is why you always see these globalist counterculture themes injected into them.
lol
I disagree. The demographic towards which these films are aimed will (largely) either applaud or not care one way or the other.
Look at Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" remake. There was a lot of talk of the "gay moment" in it, with threats of a boycott...and it's one of the most profitable films in their history.
Make the movie Wonder Woman gay and you'll really piss me off.
Lovely.
You’re Thor? I’m Thor, too.
Hope it tanks.
In other words, they told her whatever they thought she wanted to hear to get the part played enthusiastically. None of it is in the movie, only in her mind.
One more movie I don’t have to spend my hard-earned cash on.
I mean, seriously, ‘this character is bi’ about a character who isn't really depicted as being bi vs ‘I'll do anything, moving or not, human or otherwise’ as depicted in the Deadpool movie?
Alright, Yahoo, you just keep publishing those press releases as news stories.
Ill wait to see it on Netflix then.
