FULL TITLE: High school football coach 'told players to taunt boy with lesbian parents on the opposing team by asking him "who's your daddy?"'
A high school football coach has been accused of telling players to taunt a boy on the opposing team during a game about his lesbian mothers.
Duane Greaton, 49, left his position at Gray-New Gloucester High School in Gray, Maine, as a result of the allegations this week.
He allegedly instructed the boys on his team to taunt a teenager from Yarmouth High School, their opponents, during their game last Friday.
Players said that before the game began, Greaton told them to tell him: 'Who's your daddy?' whenever he was tackled.
The players told their parents about his instruction and they then notified the targeted boy's mothers, Stephanie and Lynn Eckersley-Ray, to inform them.
Neither Greaton nor Gray-New Gloucester High School has commented on the allegations.
Stephanie Eckersley-Ray told local newspaper The Press Herald she was grateful for the parents on the other team for telling them about what Greaton allegedly said.
None of the boys followed the instruction, they said.
'We found out because some Gray parents and players stepped forward and we are extremely thankful to them.

Our line coach told us the best way to be a good sport was to knock the opposing linemen on their assess during the play, then help them up after the play. All the while not saying anything.
My question was, "There are football players in Maine"?
You mean you don’t know? Would you taunt a kid with cerebral palsy? The kid can’t control who his parents are. Dont be a douche.
There is also perversion in teaching kids its OK to taunt another for something they cannot control.
I do note that none of the kids reportedly followed the instruction - which speaks well to their character.
Your line coach and mine studied at the same school of sportsmanship, I think.
One of my all-time favorite players, because he would taunt and intimidate players, he used to say "I will maim you and let you live, and kill everything you love." Lyle Alzado
But then again, that was back when players were ferocious on the field.
Bullzhit move by an a-hole Coach....Plenty of ways to “taunt” an opposing player.
Thank you, I’ve been telling people for years that I despised Ali because he was the Father of this “look at me” disease we see in sports.
“Would you taunt a kid with cerebral palsy? “
Taunting a kid with a disability or his parents with one is a whole different ball game as to parents who are perverts.
His parents are Hoover and Bissel.
Assuming the article is accurate, and the Coach was directing the players to single out this poor kid, he should go. If on the other hand he’s telling his players smack talk is an effective tactic to be used when appropriate, it’s OK.
Bottom line is this type stuff happens with or without direction from a Coach.
Ali admitted he got his shtick from pro wrestling ('rassling), more specifically Gorgeous George. He said he noticed that the trash talking George was drawing more people than most of other pro wrestlers combined. Half came to hate him and see him lose, half came to cheer him on, but they all paid to see him.
Actually there are a couple of Prep schools up there that produce great football players.
I know, middle of nowhere, its cold and wet. But they make them tough.
With what do you disagree?
I used to play goalie (hockey) for many years, and you have to have a thick skin, because it seems to be common these days for a player who scores a goal to get into a goalie’s face as a matter of course. I tried to get used to it, but if an individual was particularly odious in this respect, I wasn’t averse to “gently” retaliating with my stick to their legs when the ref wasn’t looking.
I just don’t like it. I don’t have a problem with people being happy and such, but the taunting and jawing detracts at all levels, I think.
Good leadership can minimize this.
Something else just occurred to me.
This never happened.
This could be yet another lie, another hoax perpetrated by the protected classes who often stage stunts just to garner sympathy.
That could be why the players didn’t follow insturctions. There were no instructions.
Perhaps Mommy and Mommy made this up.
That thought had occurred to me, too.
The coach is a d-bag.
Why is this article in a UK news site?
I have already provided the answer to that question.
this article is normal shaming.
in the real world (not this bs anecdote) real parents are embarrassed and humiliated when children come out as alternative lifestyle.
in the real world abnormal parenting sex partners are always frowned upon.
