Actually, there was a common thread running through some of the episodes, the Roman Empire planet and the one that had a mix of North American Indian tribes that was in the path of the asteroid, that an alien race called “The Preservers” would extract particular cultures of interest from planets that were likely to see them overrun or die out, and place them on uninhabited Class M worlds where they could continue to exist unmolested.
It was curious that in the case of the Roman planet, they extracted them right before Jesus Christ, but even in doing so, Christ still made His way there and would have a transformative effect on that planet. Imagine doing such a “Christian” episode today in SJW Faux Trekland (or yet another, presumably “Preserver” influenced world with the Chinese Communists and White Americans reduced to feral/tribal status with an unabashedly pro-American tilt to the episode with Iowan Kirk showing more respect for a ragged Old Glory than any leftist today).
BTW, did you fellas ever see this ?

This was a fan-produced (but professionally-backed) original ST episode with the participation of George Takei.
You’ll need an hour and a half to see it all (although the first half-hour by one of the professional backers, who is also an enthusiastic fan, explains the set up for the hour episode to follow). The young actress portraying Sulu’s daughter (not Demora, although she shows up later) is especially noteworthy and charming (contrasted with the lead of STD, who is more like a clone of the junior totalitarian Senator from California).
Although the actors portraying the original Enterprise crew (save Takei) are about the level of local dinner theater, they all approach their roles with respect without resorting to ham and scenery chewing (or acting thoroughly out of character, a la JJ Abrams).
I give it a solid three stars (and four stars for heart).
But Spock said it was “Hodgkin’s Law of Parallel Planetary Development”. ;-p
What about the Yangs and the Kohms?
And you telling me that Hodgkin has been discredited? ;)
