North Carolina avoided major sanctions after the NCAA could not conclude the school violated academic rules when it made available deficient Department of African and Afro-American Studies "paper courses" to the general student body, including student-athletes.

NCAA punished North Carolina by putting Cleveland State on probation for four years.
What a fraud
I’m sure this will be considered a great victory over the “haters” by many college sports fans.
NCAA has no jurisdiction over academic violations...
NCAA stepped on it’s d*ck...
The NCAA is on the take too...the FBI should ‘investigate’ this as well.
where’s the accreditation agency on this fake classes?
What a joke!
The Southern Accreditation Agency handed out punishment to UNC three years ago...Two years probation that has already been served and dismissed...

Duke and North Carolina State fans are all on suicide watch today...
And these frauds didn’t want to meet Trump. They probably couldn’t find Washington anyway.
We couldn’t find a date that worked for both parties, team spokesman Steve Kirschner told the News & Observer. We tried about eight or nine dates and between they couldn’t work out that date, we couldn’t work out that date, so we would have liked to have gone, but not going.
Kirschner said the players were not opposed to making the visit had a date been worked out

Some college grads that specialize in sports can’t read or write.
Can SMU have its death penalty reversed? Or Notre Dame its vacated games restored? Total joke
It does if the academic violations create a competitive advantage for its athletic teams. For that reason, the NCAA had no jurisdiction in the Penn State case but it does with UNC.
The NCAA is worthless when it comes to regulating its members. The Tar Heels shouldn't get too complacent just yet. The on-going FBI investigation into the shoe company payola is the bigger threat. There are a lot of schools who are worried (and probably should be) about what will be revealed when those charged with felonies and facing long prison terms start singing. This investigation is likely to bring down a lot of big schools and big-name coaches and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see UNC caught up in this. This academic scandal at UNC shows how far it is willing to go into extreme measures to have good athletic teams.
The NCAA is every bit as corrupt and discriminatory as the US government.
If I were any other university in the NCAA and they showed up at my door I would slam it in their face and tell them to get the hell off my campus and if you don’t will see you in federal court if you do ANYTHING to my university, you have lost your legitimacy to judge any institution with this fiasco, you are a discriminator entity and not to be trusted.
If this had been University of Kentucky basketball or University of Alabama football they would have received the death penalty years ago.
At this point the major universities and conferences should consider forming their own governing agencies and break away from the NCAA and just cite their corruption and blatant discrimination for doing so. This ruling opens up a Pandora’s box, because they have legitimized academic fraud.
Another option would be for other universities to refuse to play North Carolina in any sport, just tell them we don’t want to associate with such a corrupt institution.
