Today years of home schooling and teaching honor, duty and love for country came to fruition. My two oldest sons Marshall (19) and Mitchell (18) left for MCRD San Diego. These are two fine young Christian men who have never gave their mother or I any real trouble or grief. They have never so much as back talked us. It was a proud moment for us as we watched them take the oath to protect the Constitution of the United States. Neither of them were looking for a career they just wanted to do what they felt was a duty to this still great Republc we are blessed to live in. The oldest has worked for me for several years as a heavy equipment mechanic and the younger as a machinist for a year. Both finished homeschooling at 17. They wanted to go infantry and held out to get that before signing.
My prayer is that they would fulfill their duty as given in Colossians 3:17 to do everything as unto the Lord.
Semper Fi!
I’m sure you are very proud.
And rightfully so!
My thanks to your family for serving.
You will see a change in them. Its a man-maker.
I”m hoping that is a Marine Corps slang for something and not an insult.
Good luck to your sons and the rest of the family.
You must be so proud. They are off to a fine start in life.
Ready for some high level challenges.
They must already have developed some problem solving skills.
I’m sure you’re proud. Congratulations on raising two good men.
God Bless and protect them. Thank them for their Service.
Thanks for letting us share in your joy. They sound like fine young boys and I am sure the Corps will make them fine young men.
Thank you for sharing always good to hear about patriotic youngsters it actually made me smile!
That was a real asshole thing to write.
Just recognizing the reality of the modern military.
You have every right to be proud and you obviously are great parents raising some fine young men.
I was stationed at MCRD San Diego in 1970-72 when I came back from Vietnam. I really enjoyed it, but of course that was a different time and I wasn’t a boot!
It sounds like you raised them right. Brace yourself to see a big change in them.
Well done and Semper fi!
The best man on my team at work is a former Marine.
He has a great attitude and is very capable.
May your sons grow in only healthy ways as they serve our country and God.
Thank you for raising them well.
You definitely raised them right. Good job and God bless these two young patriots. Thank them for their service to their country and always be proud of them.
Thanks. Prayers for their safety.
Semper Fi!! They should be US Marines by February.
I graduated October 11, 1972 from MCRD San Diego.
Tell them God Bless and Godspeed!! OOooraaahhhh!!
May God bless them and provide His guidance and protection to them. And may He be a strength to you while they are away.
I am grateful for their service and your sacrifice. You have done well.
