You've nailed it! This is precisely correct. This is how they rationalize, in their minds - even if they don't realize or recognize their own profound hypocrisy.
I feel compelled to say that, after all the suffering of Jews in the last century, and considering the plight of those Jews living in the small land of Israel - constantly under threat, people like Weinstein and Karan owe so much more than what they've given. They have forgotten what's important, and have become monetary and secular - to an amazing fault. It's very sad, very selfish, very, very small, and very destructive. Success isn't properly measured by the size of your wallet, or the expense of your clothes or where you live.
