Back in the early 2000s, I had a 1968 Cougar XR7 with a Boss 302. Edelbrock 4-barrel and Edelbrock intake/exhaust, straightened and tuned. Flowmaster pipes. Painted her metalflake hazard sign yellow and totally restored the black interior and black vinyl hardtop. Gave her Cragar mags, 50s in back and 60s in front. She was shod with BF Goodrich T/As.

I named her "Miss Lucy" (after the same-named lady in the classic song "Midnight Special"). Took me three years to resto-mod her, including the sequential turn signals and rotating headlight covers. Her license plate was "LOUDCAT."

I'd drive her to work and have to park in the garage. She set off all the car alarms as I burbled my way down the lanes. God I loved that car.
