I thought this was insightful and very well written - Donohue has a unique, convincing theory, backed up by some experts. heterorecommended.... (SNIP)
Its all about the Three Bs: beliefs, bonds, and boundaries. As I found out when I compared cloistered nuns to Hollywood celebrities on measures of physical and mental health, as well as happiness (see The Catholic Advantage: How Health, Happiness and Heaven Await the Faithful), it is not the nuns who are unhealthy, or who suffer from loneliness, depression, and suicide.
People who need people are the luckiest people in the world. This is one of Barbra Streisands most famous refrains. She didnt quite nail it. There is nothing lucky about needing peopleits a universal appetite. People who have people are the luckiest people in the world. Paddock was not so lucky.
Most loners are not mass murderers, but most murderers are loners. In the case of Paddock, it appears that his antisocial personality, coupled with an acute case of ennui, or sheer boredom with life, found relief by lighting up the sky. Sometimes the mad search for causation can lead us astray; we should not overlook more mundane reasons why the socially ill decide to act out in a violent way.
Sadly, our society seriously devalues religion, celebrates self-absorption, and disrespects boundaries. This is not a recipe for well-being; rather, it is a prescription for mass producing Paddock-like people. We are literally planting the social soil upon which sick men like him feed...

Then why didn’t he kill his neighbors?
I can’t remember a mass murder event where we knew so little about the shooter’s motive this late. I have a sneaking suspicion the authorities have known for some time. I have no idea his motive.
I had the misfortune of coming across a serial killer.
His father was a crook.
That said, he killed local people.
What I find strange about him is, well, how the hell did this guy get any kind of a US government job while his father was on the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list? Doesn’t that strike anyone as a little weird? His father, according to Wikipedia was on the FBI’s 10 most wanted list from 1969 to 1977. The shooter’s government employment started in 1975.
we should not overlook more mundane reasons why the socially ill decide to act out in a violent way.
UNDERSTANDING THE LAS VEGAS KILLER
Think of a Hollywood Actor, throw in sodomy and transgenderism, or just ask his CIA handlers.
Seems premature to pronounce on the reasons at this point.
We don’t know what is on his electronic devices, we don’t know much about his business associates and possible money laundering, we don’t know if this was for Antifa or ISIS or what.
Yeah, they have. The reason we will never know is because ISIS/Antifa/Fast & Furious II gone wrong/some combo therein, is not the narrative Soros has commanded.
according to local sources in Mesquite, he was a local, degenerate, alcoholic, leftie spewing patron at the virgin river casino in mesquite
The answer is simply two words... Evil Exists!
‘People who need people are the luckiest people in the world. This is one of Barbra Streisands most famous refrains. She didnt quite nail it.’
That is now how I expected Barbra Streisand to be woven into the fabric of the Vegas Massacre.
“So, Satan is out?”

I didn’t even know Old Scratch was gay.
It’s more than a little weird.
It is like he was born into a Sleeper Cell of just himself and no one in his world except his bank robber father.
Just the other night I came across a video on the “Son of Sam” serial killer - 1970’s(?), NYC - Berkowitz I think? Anyway - he claims to have found Christ, and the video shows him leading Bible studies, etc.
He said he realizes now that it was Satan in his heart and head that caused him to do all of that stuff. It didn’t sound like he wasn’t taking responsibility (”The Devil made me do it!”) - but just the recognition of evil inside him.

While that is true, it is also uses various channels to achieve it’s ends, e.g. Islam, drugs, love of money and countless others.
isis claims he was working for them. I think he was too. At least in the sense of facilitation.
Col. Tony Shaefer on Fox News a few minutes said his sources indicated authorities are holding back evidence indicating a political motive while they are investigating leads.
He noted pointedly that the video evidence has not been leaked but only a couple of photos showing the guns.
1. He did it. He is mentally ill, extremely secretive, and/or has a brain tumor. Through his family history and gambling and gun obsessions Satan gained a major foothold.
2. He really was radicalized somehow. His motive was Jihadi-based political. But why would the FBI come out so soon to say “no way” unless they knew something about this guy before the slaughter. They know lots they are not saying.
3. He did not do it, or he played a smaller part in this than we are led to believe. This is a variant on the “patsy” theory. Suspects are on the loose.
Whatever the answers turn out to be, we are in for some surprises. Satan and his cohorts are up to their ancient tricks.
