Business 101 - know your customers

That's part of the challenge here for NFL owners. The NFL actually has THREE groups of customers, and the fans aren't the biggest ones:

1. TV networks
2. Corporate sponsors
3. Fans

The NFL is learning that it can't keep all three of them happy at the same time.

I think without the fans, the house comes tumbling down.

The NFL’s fortunes are tied to the networks. And Trump recognizes that the networks are his enemy. Their news divisions are his enemy. Their late night shows are his enemy. All the Liberal actors, writers, directors, and producers of everything from prime time shows to soap operas are his enemy.

Regardless of how many Conservative people are involved in football in all different ways, all across the country, the NFL is primarily a TV entertainment venue.
So it has become infected with the same PC virus as the rest of TV.

And the networks will stick up for the NFL. They are in this together, and they’ll go down together. If Trump learned anything from Steve Bannon, it’s forget about the Democrats (especially since they’re in such a weak position now), and go to war with the media.

Weaken the media, weaken the Democrats.
