Daniel Parfitt thought hed found the perfect drone for a two-day mapping job in a remote patch of the Australian outback. The roughly $80,000 machine had a wingspan of 7 feet and resembled a stealth bomber.
There was just one problem. His machine raised the hackles of one prominent local resident: a wedge-tailed eagle.

I would love to read the rest of this story. The opening paragraph has me hooked. But I don’t wish to start paying for it. I’ll just use my imagination to guess what happened next.
If you fly RC Gliders then dealing with birds of prey is pretty common. It’s actually kinda fun dodging them.

The Starlings were startled by the loud rippling drones.
Dark clouds of the birds spiraled high in the pale violet evening skies. The cacophony was overwhelming. A solo chirping statement of the Flock Leader was answered by an unruly chorus of amplified shrieking. All participants declared their dedication to the flock and all of it’s little goals.
