FULL TITLE: Ben Roethlisberger says he REGRETS Pittsburgh Steelers boycotting the anthem and reveals the decision left him 'unable to sleep
The man who won two Super Bowls for the city of Pittsburgh says that he now regrets the fact that he and his Steelers teammates refused to stand on the field for the national anthem during Sunday's game.
'I was unable to sleep last night and want to share my thoughts and feelings on our team’s decision to remain in the tunnel for the National Anthem yesterday,' said Ben Roethlisberger in a statement.
'The idea was to be unified as a team when so much attention is paid to things dividing our country, but I wish we approached it differently. We did not want to appear divided on the sideline with some standing and some kneeling or sitting.'
He closed out by saying: 'I appreciate the unique diversity in my team and throughout the league and completely support the call for social change and the pursuit of true equality.
'Moving forward, I hope standing for the Anthem shows solidarity as a nation, that we stand united in respect for the people on the front lines protecting our freedom and keeping us safe. God bless those men and women.'
He also spoke on Monday during practice in Pittsburgh and confirmed that the Steelers will not skip the anthem again this season.

Baloney! If he was sorry, he would not have done it. He might sorry that it did not turn out like he thought would. He might be sorry that his jerseys are not selling like he thinks that they should.

Having served as long as you have a DD214 you will get a full Military funeral. When my BIL at 91 died the VFW held the service, he was WW2 Plank owner of the 2nd Lady Lexington. His daughter wanted a celebration, not a funeral. And that is what they had. But didn’t neglect his Military service. She is a LIBERAL HOLLYWOOD WEIRDO, married to 1 too. But in this case she did her dad proud.
Thank you for that service. All my relatives who served and are still serving despise what the NFL is doing. Even my die hard sports nut husband who is a Ret. SCPO of 20 yrs, has stopped watching, now it’s college ball till they act out. That and NASCAR. He’s 77, and a life long sports nut as far as watching goes. He’s not into the clothing thing. For him that is Navy SCPO stuff.
I have my own trials with family what little there is of it. And had Trust funds set up, instead of a Will which can be challenged, a Trust can’t. I disowned my youngest sister when she partied while we were burying our only brother.
They don’t care that is the problem. All they see is perceived racism that doesn’t exist. I did crime stats for many years. Blacks represent 13% of the population roughly, half have criminal records. Yet big cities that are majority black want only Dem blacks in control. Which means Police and Fire are majority black, now they can’t fill those open jobs that must be filled because to many of their population have rap sheets a mile long starting as juveniles. Even the Politicians are crooks, yet they still re-elect them with the dead votes and Illegals, those who vote more than once, nursing home senile and jail inmates.
