On Sunday evening, the 48 Hours That Roiled the NFL were almost over. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell sat monitoring the second half of the late-window games in the NFL’s officiating command center. He took a short break to consider what happened on what one owner told me was the strangest weekend he’d seen in his tenure in the league.
“The way we reacted today, and this weekend, made me proud,” Goodell said. “I’m proud of our league.”

Problem is that fans have a pretty darn good memory and the fact that you wouldn’t allow the Cowboys to honor fallen policeman should the rank hypocrisy.
Apparently “protecting the shield” doesn’t include the ranks of first responders that are there to make sure every game is secure.
They may try to sweep that under the rug but there is a whole lot of fans that won’t forget.
I think we need to move beyond boycotting and hold some large demonstrations outside NFL stadiums. And NFL HQ.
Keep blabbing Badell. Your titanic league just hit the berg and is taking on water. You’ll be one of the first casualties when it hits the owners pocketbooks.

These NFL multimillionaire players who are kneelers, sitters, and no shows for the National Anthem are COWARDS - and spitting in the face of America, our military, our veterans, and those wounded and killed in the line of duty to give these morons the FREEDOMS they have today. Our Freedom is NOT FREE. Almost none of these crybaby rich brats ever served our country in the military (the exception is a guy like Villanueva on the Steelers - the only MAN on that team).
Go play football in some third world craphole like those I fought in as a US Army Combat Infantryman.

I am proud of my hometown, San Diego, for telling Roger Goodell and the NFL to get the hell out of here.

Please take the losers to North Korea and start a league there. And Iran. And Afghanistan. And don’t leave out some of the nations that still allow slavery. Some of these players would like to have multiple wives and to beat their wives legally.
If they are Christians, maybe they should stand with their hands folded as in prayer while the anthem is played.

Peter King is a good football writer, but a complete ass when he gets outside of sports.
