Grew up in East Boston so I remember going to Fenway as a kid in the 1970s. Bleacher seats were $1.25 and I could easily afford that with my paper route money. I’d go by myself so by the end of the game, I’d work myself through the park where sometimes I’d be sitting in an abandoned seat right in the front row. Good times.
A few years back, I took my two kids and wife to the game and spent over $300 all told.
Went to games at Dodger Stadium when it was new. $1 to get into the nosebleed section behind home plate. You didn’t even get a ticket, just a token to put in the turnstile. Rain check? It’s L.A.—it never rains in the summer. This year went to a game at Busch Stadium. Tickets were free, but it still cost about $100 for parking, sodas, hot dogs, etc. I see families and wonder how they can afford it. Takes a lot of the fun out of it.
Yes...and $50.00 to pahk the cah.
Those were the days...
I was a groupie at Yankee Stadium....knew all the security guards....free games...free concerts, hockey games at MSG, danced on the pitcher’s mound when the won the world series in 1978....even brought home a chunk of right field....pictures with Ron Guidry, Rick Cerrone, Jim Spencer (RIP)..and many more..Steinbrenner’s autograph....yes I made him write “to my friendly pal”....a bratty teen practically living at Yankee Stadium and what a blast we had!!!!
Also remember those days in the bleachers as well. Can't remember what we paid to take the "T" from Quincy, but it wasn't much. We were all pretty bummed when the price went to $2.00 each!.

Took my niece and her two boys to a game at Fenway in 2013, when I was in town for a convention. Spent $300 for the tickets ALONE, and those were 3rd row of the bleachers, behind the Sox bullpen!
