I went and pulled up the top 100. Wow - such memories. You know what’s significant? No rap. We could still listen before they killed pop with that crap. Afterwards it infected the airwaves, I tuned out of pop and Got into Latin, went South and never came back.
I just will never understand the appeal of rap. It’s like not even neutral but an assault on my ears.
