1980 is quite a while ago. My favorites from that year:
Please Don’t Go - KC and the Sunshine Band
Magic - Olivia Newton-John
Ships - Barry Manilow
Romeo’s Tune - Steve Forbert
More Love - Kim Carnes
Longer - Dan Fogelberg
Cruising - Smokey Robinson
I like softer mellower songs, so that’s what you see here. Any list will reflect what music people like. Interested to see other lists.
Ah yes, 1980, when we were young and carefree..........
Yabbut, Barry Manilow?
You may have to turn your man-card in.
I generally don't, so I'm not crazy about most of your list, but I always really liked Smokey Robinson's "Crusin'."
A Mighty 690 play list.
Kind of a sappy song but it always brings back memories of the optimism the Reagan campaign brought to America that summer. For me, it was the beginning of the best years of my life.
Also liked "Magic" by Olivia-Newton John. That's another song that brings back that summer for me.
“Longer - Dan Fogelberg”
A few years after my wife lost a battle to breast cancer at 28, I dated a young woman who loved Dan Fogelberg. I also like his music, too.
I saw her again - 5 years after we broke up - and we had lunch when she told me she was married. I always think of her when I hear his “Same Old Lang Syne” - the lyrics were so close to our story.
