I'm fascinated with advertising, it drives my wife nuts when I analyze commercials from TV.
Corporate bombs are always the best. Todays commercials are really outlandish, people watch them like glazed over zombies. Something is up. The PCBS!! In the future there will be much cringing.

When I was growing up a friend of mine was a busboy at our local Denny’s. He said there was a lot of, um, prostitution activity based from that establishment .... I never went near the place so I have no direct knowledge.

I was a fan of Denny's for many years, mostly for their predictability, prices, and decent coffee. Then I moved near to a Denny's that was probably the worst-run restaurant I have ever patronized. Cleaning up after their customers was obviously not a high priority, and I started to have doubts about the cleanliness of the kitchen. Then I came in for lunch one day, and a server spilled a good sized plate of food on the carpet. Mistakes happen, but when I left about 45 minutes later, no one had cleaned up the mess. Instead, it had been spread and ground into the carpet by people walking through it.

I never went back. Denny's eventually yanked the owner's franchise.
