"Taking up knitting" does not qualify as "trying a new hobby." "Hitting on the old broad in the grocery store line" does not qualify as "going out of the way to make a new friend." "Checking-in at a sanatorium" does not qualify as "booking a spontaneous holiday." "Getting fired and thus becoming unemployed" does not qualify as "changing jobs." "Finally figuring out that you're supposed to swallow the stool-softeners" does not qualify as "learning a new skill." "Going to a funeral" does not qualify as "visiting a friend unannounced." "Making a mad rush to WalMart when you discover that you've run out of 'Depends'" does not mean "going on a spontaneous shopping trip."
All in good fun!
Regards,
Trying a new hobby Does a new hobby include using power tools? How about taking up pipe smoking? Or is it a narrower definition of what constitutes a hobby?
Going out of the way to make a new friend I think this is great, but...is it really a sign of a non-boring person? Some of these people have to be avoided like the plague.
Booking a spontaneous holiday Okay, this one I personally have down pat.
Learning a new skill Define "skill"...:)
Visiting a friend unannounced This is a sign of getting older and having respect for others and their time. I was encouraged to visit one of my closest friends unannounced, who has become reclusive and won't see anyone due to illness, and it didn't turn out well.
Changing jobs Okay. What is so damned exciting about changing jobs. People who change jobs enough to be "exciting" can also be flighty and undependable.
Going on a spontaneous shopping trip I don't get this. What is "spontaneous shopping trip"? I mean, the only time you plan them more than a day in advance is for a sale or some weird item that has to be transported. This is another indication the people who chose the criteria for this "survey" are fruits.
Asking someone out on a date Let's see. Does that include calling my buddy and saying "Hey, you want to go kayaking on Saturday?" Or does it have to be someone of the opposite sex. Or, same sex? Or changing sex? Or someone you don't know? What?
Trying a new sport. Does drinking moonshine while laying in an extremely unstable, custom made hammock that will drop you (if you make a mistake) on to concrete four feet below you count? If there has to be risk, then I assume that would be included. They need to define "sport" better.
