When I was in high school, we had a yellow 1973 VW Thing for 1 year. I drove it to school that year. It was as bare bones as it gets. I drove a red 1969 VW Bug the rest of the time. Most durable car I have ever had but no power. Could barely make it up steep hills if I had 2 other people in the car. I drove the VW Bug for 8 years and put at least 150k miles on it.
