Yes, I know. I was just expanding on what you said about the Moon’s known gravitational effects on the oceans. One would have to be a complete ‘lunatic’ to think distant planets would have any significant gravitational effects here on Earth, although other planets actually do effect us gravitationally. They tug slightly on the Earth and cause it to ‘wobble’ a wee bit in its orbit. The effect is known as “perturbation”.

For example, predicting the Earth’s orbit around the Sun would be rather straightforward were it not for the slight perturbations in its orbital motion caused by the gravitational influence of the other planets.”—Encyclopædia Britannica
