A POWERFUL earthquake could strike the planet by FRIDAY because of planetary alignments, a self-styled tremor forecaster has warned.
New age earthquake researcher Frank Hoogerbeets warned a major magnitude 7 quake could strike within two days.

His latest video warning, also available on YouTube, said we entered a "critical period" on Monday this week, which will continue until Friday.
He told Express.co.uk: "From August 28 to September 1 will be critical because of two planetary alignments, one of which is Jupiter-Mercury-Uranus.
"In July the same planets aligned and a magnitude 7.7 earthquake was triggered within three days."
Mr Hoogerbeets warned up until September 1 there would be a seismic increase and there was a risk of a magnitude 7 quake - considered a major event.
He said the "seismic increase" was "anticipated until September 1, with a strong possibility of a magnitude 7 plus earthquake."
Mr Hoogerbeets was not specific about where the quake might strike, but warned that activity had increased off the coast of north eastern Canada, which had affected the north mid Atlantic ridge and, in turn the Mediterranean.
Mr Hoogerbeets also issued a wider warning saying because there have "only been three magnitude 7 plus earthquakes in 2017," it meant more were likely towards the end of the year - like in 2004 when the world witnessed the horrific boxing day tsunami that hit south east Asia.
He said: "This is way below average. A similar situation existed in 2004 with no magnitude 7 plus earthquakes between February and July.
"But no less than 12 magnitude 7 plus earthquakes occurred in the second half of that year, including a magnitude 8.1 and 9.3 earthquake in December.

Actually, the moon pulls the whole planet into a distorted pear shape, lifting not only water but the crust.
Re: The moon only moves water around, and thats a damned close planetary body.
It wasn't me who wrote that above. But, good point. Do you think the moon effects the crust enough to cause earthquakes?
I think that the moon’s gravity is ONE of the factors, not only of Earthquakes, but of Volcanoes.
As you said, the water movement also causes movement of the ground below it. Beaches rise and fall with the tides. The ground in your yard moves, albeit very slowly.
That was only a guess. I don't know for sure. I do know that water places a significant role in plate tectonics, both at the spreading centers, and even more so, at the subduction zones, where one plate is diving beneath another. Lots of seawater goes down with the subducting plate and acts as a catalyst for lowering the melting point of the rock as it reaches the hot mantle. This results in explosive volcanic activity along the margins of colliding plates.
But a logical one.
I don't know for sure.
No one does. That is why earthquakes, volcanoes, and weather are so unpredictable. TOO MANY FACTORS to evaluate properly. Some of the factors are not well understood.
These things happen.
Nope, ain't goin' there......
Is it too much to ask that you stay out of the surf?
I do stay out of the surf.... whale hunters ya know.
