She’s more of what the industry refers to as a “fitness model,” rather than a “bodybuilder.” That’s essentially a very attractive, very fit young woman with a relatively lean, athletic body, as opposed to a woman with large muscles.

False headline. She had a rare genetic condition that kept her body from correctly absorbing protein. When she upped her intake a bit, her genetic disease kicked in an it killed her.
A normal, healthy person, can eat upwards of 2-3gr of protein per kilo of bodyweight with ZERO ill effects. And that's BEFORE you start augmenting with chemistry.

About ten years ago in upstate NY, a HS cross-country runner, a wisp of a girl, fatally OD’d on salicylic acid poisoning from all the bengay or whatever it was that she used to obvious excess.

No. Genetic deformity that killed her.

um.. misleading.
she died because she had a rare genetic condition that didn’t allow her body to break down protein completely.
To: nickcarraway
She had a rare disease that stops your body from breaking down the protein and causes to much ammonia to build up in the body..
To: nickcarraway
Headline is sensational. Yeah, protein... and then the disclosure that she had a rare genetic condition that didn’t allow her body to digest protein. So yeah, protein, but really a genetic defect, unfortunately.

She had an undiagnosed condition which didn’t allow her body to break down protein.
Like most diet/exercise programs always warn, check with your physician prior to starting.

I know there are people other than Meegan who have ended up in hospital because theyve overloaded on supplements, White told Perth Now. The sale of these products needs to be more regulated. How about people need to use a little common sense and listen to what their body is trying to tell them.
It really isn't the fault of the supplement manufacturer that this woman had an undiagnosed disease.

Even water is considered toxic, if you have enough.
