Horrible. Lest we forget. Amazing there were any people left to gas.
Review/Photography; Warsaw Ghetto in a German Soldier's Lens
Excerpt:
Forty-nine years ago, a German soldier stationed in Poland decided to spend his birthday taking pictures in Warsaw. The soldier, Heinz Jost, who had been a small-town innkeeper, had seen bodies piled alongside the wall that enclosed the city's ghetto, the now-infamous 2.4-square-mile area in which the Nazi occupation forces had confined 500,000 Polish Jews.
Jost's motivation may have been simple curiosity, but his photographs, which are being seen for the first time in the United States in an exhibition opening today at the Jewish Museum, are remarkable historical documents. They record in heart-rending and sometimes stomach-wrenching detail the tragic suffering of those living in the ghetto without adequate housing, food or sanitation. They also foreshadow the even more gruesome fate that awaited the ghetto's victims.
Amazing shots, just heart-breaking, thank you.
You would think every Jew world-wide would be in the very first rung of the pro-gun owership issue, in view of all that.
Yet they’re not.
I will never be able to square that circle.
Sad beyond description.
Yet the progressives embrace fascism.
Nazis and Muslims, united in doing satan’s work.....killing Jews.
It’s not a coincidence they are both gathering steam in Germany today (actually, both sides will, between them, control Europe).
And Germans wonder why Dresden happened.
Sad beyond words ..
I’m changing my opinion very slowly. But now I’m beginning to think that these pictures and the holocaust and the memory of the shoah were slowly but now quickly destroying Europe. Not just one country Germany. But all of Western Europe.
More importantly, the destruction of Europe—that is, the Islamization of Europe—is not a good thing for either Israel or America.
Even more importantly, I wonder if the anti white hysteria on US college campuses today is not a harbinger of what to come here in America. I am reading more Jews talk about the anti white hysteria on US college campuses reminding them of what happened in Europe during the 1930’s.
I understand passions run deep on this stuff. But I’ve learned from hard experience that sometimes your own passions can work against you and everything you hold dear.
Never, ever, forget! Keep your guns clean, your powder dry, and you faith and intention true.
These are the most graphic and chilling pictures I have ever seen of this war. Incredibly clear and placed with many different situations. To be mentioned is the uprising of those same beleaguered Jewish people. This took place after the D Day landings. 13,000 occupants of the Ghetto died. They were to be transported to Treblinka concentration camp.
Somehow any sympathy I ever had for the Germans executed for war crimes evaporated. Always felt that following orders, maybe was a fact to be reckoned with. Still very hard to rationalize the actions of those in that war. I include the Allies to some extent.
