Unseasonably cool weather likely to hold through middle of August
ABC17 ^ | August 1, 2017

Posted on 08/06/2017 2:39:47 AM PDT by SMGFan

The official start to fall is still seven weeks away, but as of late it feels like it has arrived early. Temperatures for the most part have been in the lower 80s across Mid-Missouri, following a brutal heat wave that impacted Mid-Missouri in July. The cool weather has been welcoming and there are signs that we'll see even cooler weather track into the region.p Thanks to a series of rare cold fronts this summer, temperatures have struggled to climb back to average in Mid-Missouri. That changes as we head into Wednesday, as temperatures will moderate back towards seasonable averages. Average highs for the first week of August is in the upper 80s, with lows in the mid 60s. The seasonable trend will be very brief in nature, as another rare summer cold front will track through the Midwest and bring us the coolest weather we've seen in quite some time.

In wester VA - temps aren’t bad, but it hasn’t rained significantly in a month. The ground is hard as a rock and cracked.

I am seventy miles or so inland from Myrtle Beach at the intersection of I-95 and I-20. I am hoping for a rare August treat like we had decades ago when it was so cool that smoke could be seen rising from chimneys around here in the month of August.

The climate does not exist. There is no so-called: “climate.” /Climate Denier.

Whats with all of the fires in Oregon? Global warming, global cooling, Oregon not getting enough rain? And only in Oregon."

Here in Montana I'm surrounded by fires in every direction and the smoke is some of the worst I've ever seen.

Same here. In town they’ve taken over and I’m seeing more and more out on the ranch. Plus side is as you say, no limit no season they are considered feral and they’re bigger than a Whitewing and eat just as well.

If all those things were to really happen they would be right in calling it climate change, the hilarious part is that to the kooks climate change, which actually could encompass hotter, colder, wetter, drier, windier, calmer or anything else imaginable, means only one thing, MANMADE GLOBAL WARMING. They just refuse to use the specific term. We must not allow them to control the language any longer. They have been allowed to get away with calling us “climate change deniers” when we only deny one thing, MANMADE GLOBAL WARMING, it is like calling someone a forest denier because he does not believe in money trees. Climate change is real and has always been real, the climate constantly changes but MANMADE GLOBAL WARMING is a fantasy.

Wow.

Here in Colorado, we are trying figure out why the skies are so hazy lately. It was blamed on the fires in the Pacific Northwest. Not certain why Montana wasn’t mentioned.

But there ya go... Montana with lots of red dots.... bummer.

Down in Mississippi it hasn’t been nearly as hot, sticky, humid as usual. Love it. Hope this means it’s going to be a cold winter! I don’t think I wore a coat at all last winter.

I counted 364 Canada Geese yesterday at a water treatment plant in SW Michigan. Those are numbers I wouldn’t expect for another couple of months. Blackbirds are starting to get together in larger flocks now too. That is about a month earlier than I’d expect also.

All due to the icebergs breaking free and causing a cyclonic inversion of a magnitude 3 on the Thelmannn scale.

Quite common actually.

“Hope this means it’s going to be a cold winter!”

Joe Bastardi’s weather summary yesterday made reference to the summer map so far is looking like the summer of ‘85 and teased about the possibility of a winter like ‘85-86.

We were at a NC beach last week, and I don’t think it ever reached 90°. Throw in the pleasant breeze, and only rained once early-morning late in the week. It was a darn fine week.

I love me some global warming.

Don't forget the sharknados. The weather report says more Tiger sharks today with Great Whites later in the evening due to the on shore breeze....
