VERNON -- Rebekah Bruesehoff hasn't always been comfortable in her own skin. Around the age of 7, she talked about not wanting to be alive, her mother, Jamie Bruesehoff, said.
"She didn't enjoy anything, she had anxiety, was really distressed and depression came with that," Jamie said. "She just kind of lost the light in her." It wasn't until after Rebekah hit a crisis point that her family became aware of the reason for the distress -- her gender. She'd been born a boy, but in her heart, she knew she was a girl. Two years after her transition, Rebekah says much has changed.

There is a mother's husband; whether this is the boy's father is not made clear.
Rebekah gravitated toward pink, purple, sparkles and girl clothes ...
There are no sisters mentioned, so one wonders where the "girl clothes" came from. One also wonders when a liking for purple became a "gender" marker.
I firmly believe that one reason so many people "identify" as "gender nonconforming" is that few normal human beings can fit in the "conforming" box. Guess what? My four violent, filthy young sons like "sparkles," too: especially shards of glass, broken mirrors, and things with glitter in them that blow up.
I disagree. I think self-identified “real men” will be thrilled with men’s taking over women’s athletics. They don’t like women’s participating in sports.
In a more sane society, the mother would be locked up, and this poor boy would be given the help he desperately needs.
There are other articles on this boy out there and all of the refer to the pastor as “her husband” and not as a father.
Seems like a very very low probability he is the father.
Which begs the question where the father went and why he allows this.
The women won’t stand for it; look at all the hoopla they try to generate for the US Women’s soccer team - and imagine there were no “soccer moms” or open lesbians in the lineup.
Good question.
I have yet to see one of these stories that doesn't feature a crazy adult, such as this mother who thinks that a 2-year-old's liking purple things means that he "is really a girl."
The urge to whomp these people upside the head with a two-by-four is very strong. Ooops, does that mean I'm "really a man"? Let me check the latest gender-enforcement memo ...
How will they stop it?
Reading other material put out by the boy’s mother, it is very clear that she intended for this to happen from his earliest days.
This is a law enforcement case if ever there was one - is anyone at the LEO wheel in the state of NJ?
Never heard of that one. Sounds like you are thinking of a particular, atypical individual.
I get the idea that NJ is pretty much in a state of disarray these days. Maybe that's nothing new ...
What are they going to do, though? They'd be up on charges for a civil-rights violation if they even referred to this young boy as "him."
If you read a thread about a woman athlete or women’s sports, you’ll see them. Everything I know about “real men,” I learned on FR. I sometimes worry that men in real life are like this; it’s creepy.
The photo buttresses my thought that all of these so-called “trans” are hollow caricatures of either males or females designed by crazed maenad moms with abject failures of fathers and destined for catastrophic failure down the road.
Considering they haven’t any women with penises yet, it appears they already did; this will be a “do as we say, not as we do” to protect biological women from unintended consequences of this lunacy.
It’s just getting started right now, at the high-school level. Give it a few years. The high school transformers will move up to college and to national/international competition levels. They’re already in the Olympics.
The guys you are talking about must be dealing with personal inadequacies.
Real men enjoy watching fit women in little clothing move around strenuously.
Although to be fair, the nasty hardcore lesbian women in professional sports these days don’t really fit the bill. A “fit” woman and a musclebound man-woman aren’t the same thing at all.
“... hit a crisis point that her family became aware of the reason for the distress “
Translation. He was screwed up in the head, and the parents thought the way to fix it was to chop of his male member.
At what point will women from other countries (that accept the will of God) tire of watching their women lose events to men?
Good question. And if they do, what can they do about it vis the International Olympic Committee?
In summary, we'll just have to see how it turns out over the next decade or so.
You are right. He might be all smiles now twirling in his dress while his mom beams her approval, but what will happen when he becomes a teen? He can wear makeup and twirl all he wants in his pretty pink dresses, but when the boys are reluctant to date him will he turn suisidal again?
I wonder how many times his mother told him that she really wanted a girl—and the poor kid is motivated by a desire to please his mother.
The brain is shaped to be male or female during embryonic development. Once it has been shaped with male or female characteristics, there is no changing it. No loading up the body with hormones, no surgical mutilation of the genitals can alter the brain. Gender literally is set into every cell of the body. Importantly, there is no such thing as a man who genuinely believes he is a woman trapped in a man’s body. There are men who wish they were women for whatever reason, but that is a completely different issue.
This child should be removed from this family and placed with a family who can love him for who he is, not for who his man-hating mother wishes he would have been.
At the very least, this family should be undergoing counseling to determine exactly why this little boy feels this way. (It’s almost certainly the mother’s influence on him.)
