Why can’t she wear U.S. made clothes?
I thought the US designers said they would have nothing to do with her?
She wears US made clothing all the time. Italy is the center of Haute couture and she’s a former fashion model. Most modern first ladies have worn Italian and Parisian fashions as a matter of course. Or is she to be held to a different standard than Michelle Obama, Jackie Kennedy, Nancy Reagan or the Bush women?

Maybe because many US designers snubbed her :(
However, I think it would be a nice idea if some of her designers could commission her gowns to be made here :)

She can. The outfit she wore at the inauguration was by an American designer, Ralph Lauren.
When she travels, she tends to wear clothes by designers from the country she is in at the time. For example, on their recent trip to Paris, Melania wore a suit by the fashion house of Christian Dior.
