I suspect God has it hiding in plain sight somewhere.

As in, right where the priests 'originally' placed it kind of plain sight?

1 Kings 8:6 And the priests brought in the ARK of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle [1687] of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.

01687 d@biyr {deb-eer'} or (shortened) d@bir {deb-eer'}
from 01696 (apparently in the sense of oracle); TWOT - 399g; n m

AV - oracle 16; 16

1) the holy of holies, the innermost room of the temple or tabernacle
1a) hindmost chamber, innermost room of the temple of Solomon, most
holy place, holy of holies
2) (TWOT) oracle

Which is the same place name as

01688 D@biyr {deb-eer'} or (shortened) D@bir (Josh. 13:26 [but see 3810])
{deb-eer'}

the same as 01687;;

AV - Debir 14; 14

Debir = "sanctuary"
n pr m
1) the king of Eglon, one of the five kings hanged by Joshua
n pr loc
2) a town in the mountains of Judah west of Hebron and given to the
priests and a city of refuge

3) a place on the northern boundary of Judah
4) a town in the territory of Gad

oracle town; sanctuary. (1.) One of the eleven cities to the west of Hebron, in the highlands of Judah (Josh. 15:49; Judg. 1:11-15). It was originally one of the towns of the Anakim (Josh. 15:15), and was also called Kirjath-sepher (q.v.) and Kirjath-sannah (49). Caleb, who had conquered and taken possession of the town and district of Hebron (Josh. 14:6-15), offered the hand of his daughter to any one who would successfully lead a party against Debir. Othniel, his younger brother (Judg. 1:13; 3:9), achieved the conquest, and gained Achsah as his wife...

The 'West Bank' village of Rabud (near Othniel) is considered to be the location of ancient Debir (or else it is nearby). See the wiki Hebrew page link - the title is "Debir (Ancient City)"

Continued...

1 Kings 8:17 And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
1 Kings 8:18 And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.
1 Kings 8:19 Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.

West Bank boundary is the shape of the profile of King David. Meaning that Debir (the "Holy of Holies") is located in the heart of David. Jerusalem is the larynx, literally in Hebrew the "house of the voice". It goes on..

Son of David - like father like son. To be identified by a map no doubt.

Maybe the ARK killed people by shock, secrets of the universe revealed through the the most ridiculous puns, 'stupid' stuff on maps, absurd word plays on names, images, shapes of letters... real kindergarten-level material. Coloring books, Highlights for Children hidden pictures..

Inside the heart (levav, לבב) of David is the letter bet, which is a house (the letter bet is בית, a house). The first and last letters of levav still spell heart, לב lev. It's like playing with refrigerator magnets. You know how they end up, plastered on the lower part of the fridge door so the kiddies can reach them. The adults would have to bow down, stoop low, bend the knee. Or not.
