I've always wondered about the origins and meanings (if any) behind others Freeper handles. Its a quiet Sunday morning, so I thought it would be an interesting topic to start the day.
What's the story behind your handle?
Funny. I got what your handle meant the first time I saw it. I have seen a handle or two around here that really are confusing.
I've got several of those, myself. They've been known to throw the 'weird" label at me a time or two ;-)
rodguy911 goes back to 99 when I discoverd you could post ideas on the internet.
I build fishing rods so the rod part was easy, guy part obvisous but rodguy was already taken. So I added 911 “two years before it happened.” Still don’t know why.
Other than I do precog from time to time.....
So it stuck.
Catch you later K.
Ah....thanks for that explanation. I've been seeing your handle for years, and never made the connection.
mine means a few things, one of which is from a line in a Chris Tomlin song (Whom shall I fear) - I know who goes before me, I know who stands behind, the God of angel Armies is always by my side”

Thanks. I'm glad you've enjoyed it. I know I have.
Awesome choice! Everyone loves a pirate. The original rebels.
That’s a fascinating explanation of your handle’s origin. Thanks for sharing it.
My relationship with THE TRUTH.
It’s a first name followed by a last name.
Ken. Regis. In that order.
My ‘72 Gran Torino was green. Wrecked it. Bought a Chevy next.
I'm from SoCal, but have lived in Texas since 2005. When I visited my dad in San Jose in 2010, the place felt so alien to me, I had a miserable time. I was truly a visitor from another world.
When the wheels finally went up on my flight back to Dallas, I experienced a huge wave of relief. I damn near teared up, getting off the plane.
...I forgot...
...actually, you don't want to know...
...no, really...
Had a tune in my head when I signed up.

I got into amateur archaeology years ago and had a couple of friends who had the same interest and we had all 3 done a bit of studying on it, and one took archaeology as his minor in college. As we got to know each other and talked about some of the latest discoveries, they assumed the nicknames Arrowhead Fred and Clovis Clyde. Clovis is a town in New Mexico that a 12,000 year old spear point is named for, the place it was originally identified as a specific type.
So I eventually became Paleo Pete, the word paleo meaning really ancient, in archaeology and anthropology. Unfortunately it’s kinda appropriate these days too...
No story here.
