MINNEAPOLIS — The fatal shooting of an Australian woman by a Minneapolis police officer responding to her 911 call “should not have happened,” police Chief Janee Harteau said Thursday, adding that the officer’s actions “go against who we are in the department.”
In her first public remarks since the death of Justine Damond, a 40-year-old life coach and bride-to-be, Harteau defended Officer Mohamed Noor’s training but criticized his actions.
“The actions in question go against who we are in the department, how we train and the expectations we have for our officers,” Harteau said. “These were the actions and judgment of one individual.”

It’s the wrong time to be discussing the “fine points of the law” regarding what to charge this cop with. Molon Labbie is entitled to his opinion about what the exact legal term is for this wanton killing, but it seems to me that whatever the legal description of what happened , a sworn officer took a citizens life, and it was not in any way justified. I just got the impression that he was trying to lessen the truth about what the officer did. I’d have thought more of him if he had had the moral outrage that the rest of us had rather than trying, it would seem to put up some sort of justification for the officer’s actions.
Still waiting for White Lives Matter to block the freeway and demand justice for Justine. High time for the Minneapolis Police Chief Harteau to resign as well as the feckless, politically correct, liberal loon Mayor who appointed her.
The only good thing that comes out of this tragedy is watching these Minneapolis liberals squirm in the cesspools their policies have made.
And yet no amount of introspection will cause the liberal to conclude they’ve erred in any way whatsoever.
This is why liberalism is a mental disorder. Logic and reason are purposefully outcast.
While it might be true that Ms. Damond was killed by this officer in a spontaneous outburst of Islamic Jihad, that is something that will never be proven in a court of law, ever, unless Noor himself admits to it.
I hate to say it, but in today’s PC America the best anyone can hope for is that Minneapolis ends up writing a big check to Ms. Damond’s survivors, officer Noor ends up fired from the MPD and spends a few years in jail.
New policies dreamed up by the same liberals who created this mess aren’t going to fix anything nor will they prevent future tragedies. I do wonder how many more unqualified officers with poor judgement or personality disorders exist on MPD, or other major metropolitan departments.
Personally, I’ll just have to be content with knowing that one day Noor will stand before the Lord and give his account, because the account he gives here on this earth won’t result in anything that even closely resembles justice.

Yep, and I suspect that civil action may shine a bright light on the training. To what degree affirmative action proponents pushed Noor along?
It is a matter of record that within his short term on the force Noor had a number of complaints against him and supposedly the officer with him at the time of the incident was someone providing additional review. So IMO, the whole training question is likely going to be a big issue that will receive a lot of scrutiny. We will see how much valid training Noor actually received and how much rainbow and unicorn diversity dreamers may have carried Noor through the process.

LEO are being gunned down because of BLM and a diffuse anger at the police. There are bad apples but the majority work hard at demanding jobs and try and do the right thing. With that in mind I try to support the police even when calling out the bad apple.
Then why do the good ones remain silent when one of their "brothers" is a bad apple?

It is what it is. There is a way to do things correctly and a way to screw it up so that they lose on both counts. Do it correctly, and it is a win win. Do it incorrectly and it could be a lose win or worse a lose lose. Frankly, I expect them to do something other than what I proposed.

I saw his original comment. But just saying “ the officer was out of line” lead me to my comments to him. This isn’t the time for a “tutorial” on the fine points of what you call a given killing. Who gives a rat’s a$$ if the “legal term” isn’t murder, but rather manslaughter, but that’s how a cop’s mind works. And FWIW, this officer wasn’t “out of line.” That’s not a term you use when someone has just been shot to death by a cop without any justification whatsoever. It’s interesting that the Somali Cop is now taking the Fifth. If he truly made a mistake, he should be owning up to it and saving the legal system the time and costs associated with prosecuting him.
But here we have a lesbian chief of police and a mayor who dons a hijab and hangs around with the only Muzzie Congressman in the country. You figure out what the next steps are going to be. Noor will probably end up being promoted.

Most likely, they would NOT have been cleared, and Noor would have been off the force. GOOD!!!!
