A former Nebraska teacher has been sentenced to 90 days in jail for having sex with a student on his 16th birthday.
Emily Lofing, 27, was charged with debauching a minor as the boy was 16 years old, the age of consent in Nebraska. Lofing did not contest the charge, WOWT reports.
The married former teacher was working in Weeping Water at the time of the offence. She is alleged to have met up with the teenager to have sex in July 2016.
Her lawyer, Desirae Solomon, claimed she had suffered a “mental breakdown” and pleaded with the judge to consider Lofing’s stress from work and family history of depression as contributing factors to her behaviour.
Ms Solomon said Lofing had been leading a “double life” and “people who have known her for her whole entire life were shocked at this type of behaviour,” KWBE reports.

Lofing has been sentenced to 90 days in jail, which could be reduced to 53 days for good behaviour, two years’ probation, 240 hours' community service and a $1,000 fine for contributing to the delinquency of a child.
She has resigned from her job at Nebraska City Middle School and surrendered her state teaching certificate.
The official judge-ordered punishment is a tiny slap on the wrist. The bigger punishment is that her career and her marriage are over and her life will forever be in shambles...she'll (maybe) be a Wal-Mart greeter or burger-flipper and live alone in a hovel the rest of her life. We will have the pleasure of paying for her Section 8 housing and food stamps. I wouldn't be surprised is she attempts suicide. All for what?

I would make a few random observations.
1) She committed adultery
2) Does she have to register as a sex offender?
3) If her husband divorcers her, will he have to pay alimony?
4) Her lawyer said she was depressed. I bet she is really depressed now.
5) I am amazed how large her smile is given her mouth size in the first picture.

They should only put old ladies as high school teachers otherwise this kinda stuff is gonna happen. They should not put young male teachers as cheerleading coaches for the same reason.
No, they (the perps) don’t have self control but these boys are not babies. This is a matter for the boys parents and the young lady not the police. JMHO.
