The US neurologist Michio Hirano, who offered to treat terminally ill Charlie Gard, is due to meet the infant's medical team in London on Monday.
The High Court has resumed hearing a request to consider fresh evidence that experimental therapy offers a 10 percent chance of Charlie's health improving.
He has a rare genetic condition.....
Further tests might settle the dispute.....
The case has been returned to the High Court following reports of new data from foreign healthcare experts who suggest nucleoside therapy might improve Charlie's condition.
Mr. Justice Francis said he intends to give his ruling July 25.......

The media like the BBC now has the name of the doctor in the US who offered to treat the infant and leading with Dr. Michio Hirano's involvement in the matter.
The judge will wait till July 25th to issue some verdict.
I hope that doctor didn't meet with any Russians/sarc.....
I’m on the fence on this one.
It on one hand is HIGHLY unlikely that this infant will ever have anything close to any sort of even low functioning existence. It’s also likely that he may be experiencing constant pain and torment.
Bottom line though is the choice IS NOT that of the state but rather absolutely and solely that of the parents.
I am not absolutely certain I agree with their choice but I am absolutely sure that the choice is there’s and there’s alone.
A ruling on the 25th...I guess that’s how they treat an urgent matter. I mean IF the treatment will help, the sooner the better. Sheesh.
Sounds like the Judge wants to run the clock out on Charlie.
>> I am absolutely sure that the choice is theres and theres alone.
Then there’s no fence.
The parents have been seeking this type of therapy since November. The ghouls of the NHS and the English legal system have been playing for time. Charlie’s condition tends to be lethal within mos— ~4 on the outside. Therefore they thought Charlie would be long dead by now.
Their continued slow-walking is sociopathic. They want this baby to die, period.
It’s less about care than who makes the decision for Charlie.
This child’s life or death can be day by day but this SOB can postpone the God like ruling ten days later and still say,”NO,you will stay here”...to ultimately die. It’s a new world order of things.
Ain’t ‘Single Payer’ great??
WHEN this happens here in the US, and it will, these oh so powerful judges of life and death better be making their decisions behind very high walls and oodles of armed security. I really don’t see a lot of right thinking Americans tolerating this kind of bull s**t.
This wouldn’t happen to my loved ones without me making one helluva statement.
Agreed. Morally that is true
Unfortunately the legal system has decided to interfere with patient care
Yup. I’m afraid that’s true
I wonder who financed the doc’s trip.
some people are not born to have some full life by our standard but to fulfill a need God knows is needing to be fulfilled.
look up “Eliot 99 balloons” on Youtube. (tissue alert)
Incase you or some who read this don’t want to look it up, short video about a boy who was not expected to live to be born and doctors wanted parents to abort, they had the baby who only lived 99 days and he touched many lives in person and by video.
There is a big picture, not just the smaller obvious ones.
The fence exists not as to what their rights are or are not but rather what I would do in there position.
ok, I’m wrong, doctors did not ask parents to abort but still a very similar situation to Charlie in that Eliot was not expected to live long ( wasn’t expected to make it to birth even) YET Eliot had a reason to be here as long as God wanted and so does Charlie.
Courts and healthcare systems etc are way outa line with trying to determine who should have care or not and what types of care and how much care etc.

My late uncle was an obstetrician/gynocologist/surgeon. You'd be pleasantly surprised at how many cases these doctors do pro bono.
Thy do it out of kindness, altruism...and in many cases, they see a unique challenge to their skills.
Thank God for the doctor who sees a hopelessly high mountain.....and dare to climb it.
This U.S. doctor offering to fly to the UK may be a combination of all these positive traits.

I know exactly what u mean.
We all need to be prepared in every way.
