(KARE) Surveillance video posted to Facebook early Sunday morning shows a Minneapolis, Minnesota police officer shooting two dogs in the owner's fenced-in backyard.
Police issued a statement Sunday saying that officers were responding to a residential burglary alarm when the shooting occurred.
In the video, a dog is seen approaching the officer in the north Minneapolis yard. The officer backs away and shoots the dog, and then a second dog runs in and the officer appears to shoot that dog as well. The dogs run away and the officer can be seen climbing the fence and leaving the yard.
The police report states that "two large size pitbulls charged at officer" before he fired at them.

Exactly right.. They are Cowards! Way too many have killed non-threatening dogs. Seems they STILL are not getting the proper training.. Frustrating and Heartbreaking.
I'm an older woman.. My Border collie and I fought off a vicious, barking, growling, 'dog aggressive' pit bull who was within two feet of my dog and determined to get ahold of him.. It was intense.. Cars were slowing down to watch.. The Pit bulls idiot owner was watching from across the street.. I was struggling to hold my dog back while trying to be inbetween them.. When I sensed the Pit bull was about to pounce on my dog I stuck out my leg.. With that the Pit ran back across the street. I was shaking for an hour afterwards.. I wish I had it on video.. Border collies are so smart and so brave. A submissive, scared dog would have been toast.
