Your scenario fits together so well that it must be correct. Not only that, it is clearly the simplest explanation imaginable, satisfying Occam's razor criteria. As others have noted, it also explains AGW (which secretly means Areogenic, not Anthropogenic, Global Warming). And most importantly, it conclusively blames Republicans for the whole thing.
