Greetings from Missouri. Really nice day today. Had a little rain this AM, but dry enough to work the garden this afternoon and plenty of afternoon sun. Nights are finally in the 60s.

Got some herbs transplanted into some of the concrete blocks that I used to replace some rotten wood and expand the raised bed by the basement patio.

The taters planted earlier have finally bloomed and the garlic is about ready to pull. Everything has taken about a month longer than usual-I think it's the cool weather.

Hubby planted some sort of purple speckled beans and we got the first crop in and cooked up a mess of them to eat. They turned green and looked similar to the Italian green beans after cooking.

Still no tomatoes. Have been looking at the catalog to see what I might grow this fall that would be different. Have some ancient wheat that I'm thinking about trying out.

EVERYTHING kicking it here in East Tennessee...tomatoes, sweet and super-hot peppers, 10 varieties of popping and sweet corn, several melons and watermelons, candy roasters for PIE, 90 types of pole and bush beans, cucumbers, squash...NO junk like eggplant, okra, or collards...ick.
