I gave up on any good shows on regular TV a long time ago, found myself watching shows on Amazon Prime and Netflix like Peter Gunn. I also found JLTV through DirecTV and watch great old shows like the Jack Benny Show and the Dinah Shore Show.....sad I know but wondering if other Freepers have found any nostalgic shows worth mentioning?
Also, does anyone know who does the song between shows on Encore Western. Not really what I would call a "western" tune but I am just curious who does that song.
About a year ago, temporarily in Florida, I accidentally discovered Zane Grey Theatre, hosted by Dick Powell. I’m 59, but had never heard of it,just before my time. I don’t have cable myself, but have since found episodes on YouTube.
It’s amazing. Each episode is a stand alone short story featuring many actors you will recognize.
I watched Lawman with John Russell. Encore westerns played every episode. “’I recorded them to watch again some time.
Since Bill Clinton was elected I stopped watching prime time tv. Haven’t watched network news since Reagan was elected. I now limit myself to movies I’ve already seen, the western channel, some ME TV, and selective sporting events.
Spent many years overseas as a kid, catching up on black and white westerns was unable to see across the pond in the sixties. Good shows with solid morals.
Mannix, 77 Sunset Strip(*AKA Hawaiian Eye etc), The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, General Electric Theater
Have Gun - Will Travel. From before I was born, but what a great discovery for me! You can get the whole series on DVD for 50 bucks.

Bat Masterson was another good one.
Have you tried downloading old radio shows? Many are so well made its nearly like watching TV. There are something like 500 episodes of Gunsmoke alone !
I love the funny shows
Jack Benny
My favorite husband (Lucille Ball)
My friend Irma, very funny
Also I suggest it to many people and almost nobody listens.. But the quality and morality of many Korean TV Dramas is amazing.. do some research, you might like them.
In Denver, lots of free over the airwaves TV. Westerns every Saturday. Wagon Train. Bonanza. Raw Hide. Palidan. Laramie. Rin Tin Tin. Hondo. Maverick. Nichols. And lots of great old movies. Almost too many free channels to chose from. And with Red Box at every grocery store for 2$ DVD rentals there are lots of affordable options for viewing. Long live the broadcast towers on Lookout Mountain.
You might check those out in your area. They are on as an alternative to the cable channels or satellite.
There is a ton of excellent programming on European TV. Just watched Unforgotten on ITV, stunningly good crime drama. You can find the episodes on dailymotion.com
Agree with today’s tv offerings. I looked through Netflix’s movies yesterday only to find a ton of gay films. Disgusting filth.

While not retro, the “Longmire” series is good if you like sort of Westerns. The prior seasons, and the upcoming final sixth, are on Netflix. The sheriff is Robert Taylor.
This movie was seen just prior to BO'Bs Inauguration Day
(the first one) Staring Robert Young
Poor quality but will help to give an idea as to what could befall us
You forget how commonly accepted it was back in the day.

“Rockford Files” is one of my favorites. Big disappointment to me when Js. Garner died and I learned that he was a far-left lib. {sigh}
Perry Mason. Sea Hunt. Big Valley. In Concert. Naked City. Batman. The Adventures of Superman. Super Friends. Space Ghost. Johnny Quest. Wanted, Dead or Alive. Fury. Flipper.
