And the coverage they get is better than most of the people paying taxes and paying for their own insurance get.
100% free everything. They can even get free taxi rides to the doctor! It’s wrong to take money away from people working hard to provide for their families and give it to people that aren’t providing for their families—while giving those that don’t pay better healthcare coverage.
This will drive even the paying class to demand single payer...when the freeloaders are getting better benefits than the working class it’s completely broken.
The kicker is that most of those children do not ever need to go to the doctor. Maybe for a checkup. That’s it. Throw in a flu once a year. That’s it. The money goes to the insurance companies. What is the base amount per policy that the government pays insurance companies?
You paint a rosy picture.
Many doctors will not take Medicaid insurance ... and if they do they make the patient wait weeks sometimes months for an appointment (hoping that they will give up and go away or to the ER).
So it sounds good on paper for Medicaid enrollees but in truth there were never enough doctors and other facilities to take care of this number of “newly insured” people even if they had wanted to.
