I don’t think I have ever encountered a pediatrician that won’t take Medicaid. There may be more now! The practice we used in Virginia might have been such a place. I’m not sure. I looked at their website the other day to see if our favorite physician was still practicing, and I was taken aback by how socialist-looking it is. All of the pediatricians are associated with the children’s hospital, and there are at least 50. The website is a mess because it is designed for a zillion people to be confused. Haha.

(We lived there years ago. Our daughter is grown and married now, and she is back in the area. She had to deal with a hospital there, and they pulled up her childhood pediatric records though she had never been treated at a hospital there. She only went to her pediatric group. And she wasn’t even the patient in question recently. Her child was! The computer had things all messed up. I think the records are still messed up!)

Children are not the only ones on Medicaid (or its equivalent SCHIP).

Obamacare relaxed the eligibility requirements for being on Medicaid. I used to be only young children and pregnant women or women with infants, or the blind etc. Now it is open to everyone as long as they have no/low income.

That is, in the States that adopted the Medicaid provision. Obamacare tried to make it mandatory for States to relax their eligibility requirements for Medicaid but the Supreme Court struck down that mandate. Initially only 26 states adopted the new Medicaid requirements ... now more States have done ... I’m not sure how many.
