Teetering around in your highest heels, most glamorous dress and a towering hat all day is de rigueur for Royal Ascot. So it's no wonder revellers at Ascot were keen to kick off their stilettos and take the weight off as the afternoon wore on. Ladies Day attendees were seen positioning themselves on the grass in front of the grandstand to enjoy a drink and give their feet a well-earned rest. Seemingly unflustered about getting grass stains on their best outfits, racing fans were eager to kick back and relax amid the hordes.

Wow. If that’s class, England is in deep trouble. The tats are a nice touch - nothing like the drunken sailor look to class things up.
OTOH, seeing as some members of the royal family aren’t much better (think Andrew on Pedo Island), not much more can be expected.
There ain’t enough whisky in all of Scotland and Ireland..........................

There’s a reason England is not famous for their food or women.
It’s sad. It seems to be a condition that is now prevalent in society. Sometimes I think of old movies, like It’s a Wonderful Life - I know it’s fiction, but the way people dressed and behaved had to be based on reality at that time. We’ve come a long way down.
Yes, self respect led to decorum and a quiet nobility.
It’s been replaced by self empowerment that leads to woman attempting to be sexy in public. Doesn’t work-they just look sleazy and foolish.
Well, now we know how most brits are still able to reproduce.

Theodore Darylrimple wrote a column (I think its in his book, “Life at the Bottom”!) that at one time the lower class tried to imitate the behaviors, mores and look of the classes above them. Nowadays its the other way round! Both approaches are equally hypocritical. However you tell me which approach gives the most “livable” society.
Gads. In this world of purple hair, tattoos, nose rings, I was really hoping to see ladies and gentlemen dressed in proper elegant finery - something for sore eyes or generally in that direction (and there were a few); instead, I see something mostly resembling the “People of Walmart” version of a Look-at-Me contest.

Even the princesses, Beatrice and Eugenie, are fugly. How embarrassing. Now we understand why England has given up and are bending over for the invaders.
