If you have seen both, please fill in the blank. If you want to include a couple sentences, OK-fine :)
If you liked "The Tudors", you'll _________ "Game of Thrones".
If you haven't seen them and are going by what you've heard, well....I'd be glad to hear from you on any other subject...
But not this one :)
I enjoyed the Crown. And Lithgoe as Churchill. But I am getting sick of the show producers’ Emmy consideration billboards begging for him to get an Emmy for it. I live in an Academy neighborhood. Not sure it was even Emmy worthy but he is a master actor.
The Tudors was okay, but it was no Game of Thrones.
There was nothing in it that was particularly memorable, except maybe how fat the lead actor could make himself and how much he scowled (though he does that in every movie).
The Other Boleyn Girl was a better version of the first part of the story.
Wolf Hall was too dark and moody (somebody or other will probably disagree with that or recommend the 1970s Six Wives of Henry VIII).
The Borgias, though, was awful, at least judging by the little I saw of it.
I liked “Mr. Selfridge”.
But to see a real life ‘Game of Throwns’ follow the happenings of North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela and Myanmar or for lighter versions Brazil, Bolivia and Argentina. You’ll have to go to media other than ours but it’s out there on the net.
With so many major characters, I wouldn't want to name one as the "lead actor"; if you're referring to Mark Addy, his character was killed off 7 episodes into a six (so far) season series. Or is that all the more you've seen of it? Thanks.
What I'm after: something I can show my wife, who liked "Tudors" but is leery of "GoT". She ends up liking just about 2/3 of the movies/TV I do, but doesn't want to start this one without a quantity of positive outside opinion behind it.
I was talking about The Tudors.
I'd have thought that was clear from the context.
I notice articles saying Rhys Meyers didn't actually get fat for the series, so I guess there was nothing memorable about it.
It might have been a better show than I remember, but it just didn't make an impression on me.

The DVDs include a lot of extras. Maybe that would convince her.
Ha Ha Ha!
Are you bored of the Rings?
If all the people who claim to dislike Game Of Thrones were to watch just one episode, Battle of the Blackwater, they’d understand what all the fuss is about, in my opinion. I know that’s the one that hooked me.
She was adorable.
Take a look at Monarch of the Glen. It was a nice break from the gratuitous dreck pumped into our homes.
Outlander. Dr. Blake Mysteries. Two of my favorites that have not been mentioned yet.
Yeah I agree and the show is stupidly liberal but I love the George and its fun
I have heard that. Will have to check it out.
That is pretty much how I feel about them. And I still can’t get Lithgow’s butt out of my head from that one episode of Dexter
Sounds serious.
Thanks to all for participating. I guess my request was unclear. I ‘ll accept the fault for that.

Should I do a multiple choice next time?
Don't give up on it yet. Try Ripper Street
A period crime drama that takes place in Jack the Ripper's precinct.
I don’t understand why the monstrous Henry exclaimed, “I like her not!” after meeting Ann of Cleves.
I thought she was a babe.
Ann Boleyn’s family, especially her pappy, were royal creeps.
Her ex-lover Wyatt was the nnly one who burgled Ann and he walked away.
Answer: liked.
Thanks, but i cant suffer through that stuff.
Apparently the real one was possessed of a lesser ration of pulchritude. The one portrait I’ve seen wasn’t particularly nice, and I think it was a Holbein.
Did you happen to see Game of Thrones and could you offer a comparison?
