If you've ever had an inexplicable love for a song that's just strange, post a link to it here. Should be amusing and entertaining for a Saturday night.

Jeez, is that a hologram?

#1 on the Dr Demento Show back in 1973!
So it got airplay. At least the Holy Modal Rounders cover version did.
But the video graphics push it over the edge.

"The link is to Mason Williams playing Classical Gas on the Smothers Brothers Show?"
Thank you. The correct link is (J. Edgar Swoop)

The link I posted was the next automatically played Youtube video selection.
The lyrics in the link are a revision from the lyrics I posted, but are mostly the same, as is the music.

A few of the folks in the video were from the Wagakki Band.
Here's a link to their first video - it's got close to 62 million hits in the last three and a half years. Lots of live material available on the sidebar if you like them.

That’s a haunting song, one for the ages. Here’s another shipwreck song, the wreck isn’t obscure but this band is:
Bears & Company - Carroll A. Deering

Not exactly a weird song but another cultural mash-up, I believe the song is an old Hungarian folksong performed by the band Veszelka Commando. And let me state for the record, every rock band need a set of bagpipes !

It’s sort of Japanese metal with a vaguely country vibe to it, nice.

Interesting. I like Mr. Bungle the guitar.

I’m going to throw in another one of my own. This woman embodies the weirdness that is Asheville, NC. To me, hers is a very affecting sound. So strange, a little creepy but also so warm. I’ve loved her for a very long time.

Here’s another 90’s favorite, with a nice film noir style video somebody created for it. This is the explicit version so there’s an unfortunate F bomb or two:
Porno For Pyros - Pets

I heard this one on the afternoon of 9/11 while driving in my car. I don’t know why but it brought me to tears, I had to pull the car over. I’ve loved it ever since. For that reason, it’s weird to me.
