Hopefully it was before it actually burst. My appendix went bad and I had to have it removed but it hadn’t burst yet, so the recovery time was relatively short.

Best to Mr. Carlson for a speedy recovery.

Hopefully it was before it actually burst. My appendix went bad and I had to have it removed but it hadn’t burst yet, so the recovery time was relatively short.

In 1942, my grandfather (his son, my future dad, was 6 years old at the time) came down with abdominal discomfort, saw the town doctor, and was diagnosed with indigestion and sent home. He was about 32 at the time.

In reality his appendix had ruptured.

He was dead within 48 hours.

Obvious malpractice on the part of the doctor, but back in those days, I guess it was the kind of thing that didn't generally result in a huge lawsuit...

Mine burst. Nasty biz. Paratenitis. Spent 1 1/2 wks in isolation.

Mine burst......I was in the hospital for 5 days then was on super strong antibiotics for another 2 weeks.
Not fun.
