To: IBD editorial writer
....want to allow states to automatically enroll the uninsured in health plans.....

Someone help me out here, and I am not looking to bash the Senate. Why is a law like this needed? The tenth amendment seems to already take care of this issue.

One reason I really didn't have a problem with RomneyCare as a legal entity--if Massachusetts didn't like it, they could dump it.

The way I understand the Constitution the states don't need permission to do a lot of stuff. Someone help me out here.

The U.S. citizenry has gotten used to a health care system where they can always force other people to pay their medical bills. As time went on, costs inevitably spiraled out of control because there's no effective way to control costs when people aren't paying their own bills.

People clamored for their government to "fix the problem," but there's no way to fix a system that is built on a foundation of delusion.

So here we are in June 2017. It's really that simple.
