According to an assistant math professor at the University of Hawaii, any white man with a job that puts him in power over anyone else should quit or at least think about a voluntary demotion. Piper Harron, who graduated from Princeton with a PhD in mathematics, said in an American Mathematical Society blog post last week that it was impossible to achieve equality until white “cis” men gave up their positions of power so they could be filled by minorities.
“Not to alarm you, but I probably want you to quit your job, or at least take a demotion,” wrote Harron. “Statistically speaking, you are probably taking up room that should go to someone else. If you are a white cis man (meaning you identify as male and you were assigned male at birth) you almost certainly should resign from your position of power.”
Harron went on to remind men who “identify as male and were assigned male at birth” that they do not deserve their own success, no matter how hard they worked to obtain it.
“Get off your hiring committee, your curriculum committee, and make sure you’re replaced by a woman of color or a trans person,” she wrote. “Remember that you live in a world where people don’t succeed in a vacuum; most success happens on the backs of others who did not consent. You have no idea how successful you would have been if you were still you, but with an additional marginalization (not white, or not male, or not cis gender, or with a disability, etc).”
Since Harron recognizes that few white cis men will take her advice (since they are evil), she calls on schools to take matters into their own hands.
“What can universities do?” she asked. “Well, that’s easier. Stop hiring white cis men (except as needed to get/retain people who are not white cis men) until the problem goes away. If you think this is a bad or un-serious idea, your sexism/racism/transphobia is showing.”
Ah. The “if you don’t agree with my idiotic proposal, you’re a bigot” argument. Very powerful stuff.
“When the applications come in, remember society makes dominant applicants look better than they are,” she warned. “Society makes marginalized applicants look worse than they are. There is no objectivity. There is no meritocracy.”
Even better. The “if you don’t hire felons and layabouts, you’re a bigot” argument.
Good news, though. If you’re worried about this kind of nonsense gaining acceptance in mainstream society (and, well…who knows anymore?), and you think you’re in danger of losing your job as a white cis man…all you have to do is put on a dress, change your name from Sam to Samantha, and – voila – you move from the oppressor category to the oppressed category like magic!
Seriously, though…has the fall of a civilization ever been so glaringly predictable?

I was curious though...I thought she was a math prof....Calculus II? Maybe that is the upper limit of her math prowess? Seems a bit strange, but with an affirmative action hire like her, it isn’t out of the question.
I see she also got the talking points memo. Same things the last 20-30 or so have said. Academia.. where the stupid are paid what to think or lose that cushy job where they do nothing.
Yup. Every organization should replace the most qualified, competent, concientious, and honest employees (white men), and replace them with lazy, incompetent, corupt, slackers (minorities). Because every organization should be run like Detroit.
Affirmative action was sold as given a choice between two EQUALLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES the position should be given to the minority. The problem is that there are virtually NO blacks who are as qualified as white males. Now they are promoting “No white males need apply”.
I've spent some time in countries that are ruled by black people.I've even been to a particular country while it was being ruled by whites as well as while it was ruled by blacks.
These countries are ones in which few Westerners would want to live and,in fact,are ones in which a good many blacks don't enjoy living.
A year ago screeds like this made me afraid. Now I want that “temporary” in front of her title to be the high water mark of her career. I think people like this should be sent to camps.

What they are doing is creating white racism where it didn’t exist before. Marginalized and oppressed, what else can young white males full of piss and vinegar do besides band together to fight?
Taken to its natural conclusion, every 2nd-year employee is taking up a job that could go to a college new-hire, who then next year becomes a 2nd-year employee who...

We all wondered what was going to happen when these affirmative action types were found out as incompetents.
Now we know. Their answer is, “Your competence is racist, just like our incompetence.”
Life if simple if you have one answer to all of its problems.
The more these idiots run their mouths in a public forum, the better the guarantee that Conservatives will stay in charge for the next generation.
If that happens, we might start to recover from the damage that liberals have caused. A generation's worth of repair would be a good start, and a way to break their current string of destruction.
Folks - it is not my “job” to give away. I perform a service for my employer who compensates me for the time I spend performing that service. The Company owns the jobs. Employees are people in position performing that job.
A motto I learned years ago is - You have to earn your right to be re-hired everyday.
BTW - If you don’t you end up ‘giving’ your job to an outsourcer in India.
They wouldn’t take it freeloading pays more with less energy spent.

To be considered as soon as minorities turn in and never again use everything white men (and women) have invented, like cell phones, laptop computers, automobiles, pencils, electricity, and indoor plumbing. They can keep the peanut butter and rap music (but it’ll have to be spread with wooden implements and performed on hollow log drums respectively).
