Synopsis: This is an anonymous source alert and at least thats more than either the Wash Post or the NYT has given you. A person on something called Boardnet and within Boardnet, on something called - /pol/ - posted the following last Wednesday, May 17. [I am a] 4th-year surgery resident here who rotated from WHC (Washington Hospital Center) last year, it wont be hard to identify me but I feel that I shouldnt stay silent. Seth Rich was shot twice, with three total gunshot wounds (Entry and exit, and entry). He was taken to the OR emergency where we performed and exlap and found a small injury to segment three of the liver which was packed and several small bowel injuries (pretty common for gunshots in the back exiting the abdomen), which we resected12 cm of bowel and left him in discontinuity (didnt hook everything back up) with the intent of performing a washout in the morning. He did not have any major vascular injuries or otherwise. Ive seen dozens of worse cases than this which survived and nothing about his injuries suggested to me that hed sustained a fatal wound.
Seriously? You think the MPD would falsify their arrest report about a fact that could be so easily verified?
The author of this fantasy details at least a 10 hour timeline before Rich's death.
The police report says less than 90 minutes.
Please.
Quote from the movie “Princess Bride”: Max: “he is only mostly dead, not all dead.” (Taking about Wesley the Piate, Princess Buttercup’s true love.
It could be that this story is bogus.
But your statements are not sufficient to discard it yet. From what I can surmise, the confidence level of a fourth year surgery resident would be very close to that of an attending. Surgery is a huge revenue source for hospitals. Seems to me a fourth year resident would be close to the top of the food chain.
In the hospital world a third year resident is akin to a good AA second baseman. They are risking more than $100K in school loans that have to be paid off. Its just not likely.
But the folks around here seem to want to believe what they want, rather than what makes sense.
All I’m saying is it’s not enough to rule out the truth of this story. It really isn’t. And your understanding of surgery residents is not very good.
i work with them every day. do you?
Believe what you want. i really couldnt care less.
Take if for what it’s worth but the content, the tone, and the general tenor of this message hit no false notes - there are no red flags, no misue of medical jargon - and it’s at about the level that a fourth year surgical resident would speak.
Then you must be aware that hospital revenue from surgical procedures is not affected by residents’ student loans.
Hospitals make lots of money from surgeons in residency and afterwards. They are treated with high deference. A fourth year surgery resident is not going to be intimidated in the way a medicine resident would.
huh?
I am talking bout the penalties for violating hippa, and the impact on their career.
i am all too well aware of the reveue brought in through surgeries.
You are both correct; I withdraw my prior comment.
As such, it is then very fishy that someone bound by HIPPA would spout off. It sounds now like that old Leftist/Clintonian tactic of throwing a few easily disproven woppers into a big story...then the whoppers are disproven, thereby discrediting all of the truthful nuggets that are part of the big story, and ending the scandal of the week.
Could well be. As it is, there is more attention on the DEATH of seth Rich, than on the quesiton of whether he was the source of DNC Wikileaks. The doctor story tends to draw even more attention to the DEATH question.
Many people perpetrate hoaxes just for the thrill of it. FR has had a few posters who were very skilled at that, and human nature loves a good conspiracy theory.
What if he were charged with violating that law. Do you think the judge might subpoena other doctors from the case? And the cops involved in the hospital and maybe on the crime scene?
He was shot at 4:20 am and pronounced dead at 5:57 am.
The story is impossible on its face (12 cm bowel resection in that time frame?)
Classic Clinton. Cover up the truth by contaminating it with an obvious lie.
“I thought I read he died within 2 hours of reaching the ER. It seems odd that they couldnt save him”
Shot in the liver and didn’t even make it to the OR and that seems odd to you?
Really?

The one element of the story that is being corroborated by other sources is that the Metropolitan Police have stood down, dragged their feet, stonewalled, etc.
Who signs their paperwork? Who’s responsible if the insurance doesn’t pay? The parents. (Unless the kid is emancipated).

Oh yes, I believe no one in power (not just “the Democrats”) wants to know what happened.
I believe there’s no doubt of that.
But that a gunshot to the liver resulting in death in 90 minutes is suspicious? Been there, done that. Not suspicious in the least.
I think Hillary and Podesta had him murdered. They are guilty until proven otherwise.
I am always amused by those who say that the Constitution prohibits Americans from thinking that.

It doesn’t. But you can’t be on the jury.
